Tell Me What You Eat, I Tell You What You Drink

Dear  ,

Tell Me What You Eat, I Tell You What You Drink

 Brasserie Lipp

Yes, it's really relevant, read on. A number of years ago we dined at the famous Brasserie Lipp in Paris. It was Ernest Hemingway's hangout and it had a great reputation. Moments after we were seated the maitre d arrived and we asked for the wine list. His reply was, "Tell me what you eat, I tell you what you drink". It looked like we were in for one of those fabled American vs. Parisian verbal bouts.

Well, it's a long story and it turned out to be one of the nicest nights that we have ever had in Paris. Truth be told, the wine was spectacular and it paired well with our choice of dishes. He obviously knew his wine and food. After all he was an expert in a renowned brasserie.

The inner meaning of this story replays itself over and over at the office. All too often clients call and say,"I want to buy a mug or a pen". Sometimes they are correct but often they have not taken the time to ask the right questions and let someone who is deeply involved each and every day with the subject matter. There is a strong possibility that there may be some alternative ideas or that something new has just been released to the market.

We use the following 8 questions to guide ourselves and our clients to discover key information which assists both parties in narrowing down the options. This ultimately results in selecting the perfect promotional item that will send the right message to the right audience with measurable results.

Here are our 8 questions but don't fret if you don't have the answers to all of them. These are excellent starting points in the conversation.

  1. What is the intended purpose of your campaign, promotion or event?
  2. Who is your audience
  3. What is your message?
  4. Where will your message be received?
  5. How will you deliver your message?
  6. What is your budget?
  7. How will you measure its effectiveness?
  8. What is the time frame for execution?

Just a few minutes invested in thinking through these questions is the smartest way to insure success in your next promotional investment. Give us a call and let's get the conversation started.

Paper Web Keys are Hot!

Paper web keys are hot! We discovered them 18 months ago and they are becoming a major hit. The search engine gods have blessed us with page 1 positions in Google and Bing so our phone is ringing every day. A web key is a USB device that is encrypted to direct a user to a pre-programmed URL (web page).

Web keys are a great marketing tool but by themselves they tend to get lost in desk drawers and pockets as they are small and fairly nondescript. By mounting a web key on a brochure you create a dynamic environment. The brochure can be eye catching and deliver your initial message. The web key will then take the user to a web page that can provide more graphic content including Flash, streaming video, a form for information or a contest. The web page can be routinely updated to stay current and relevant.

For even more visual impact a custom shaped web key can be incorporated into the brochure or card.

A paper web key is an ideal mix of traditional print marketing with digital media. It spans the entire demographic spectrum from a Millennial to a Greatest Generation. There is a powerful curiosity effect with them as most people have never seen one. Check out our Paper Web Key page on our web site or call us at 888-344-6060 for a sample.

Instead of our usual web page links, here is an update on our new home page. Up until now we have developed the entire site in house. For our new home page we have hired a web designer and he has just completed the coding.

We have begun to create the new content which will be much more visual. Our home page is our store front to the clients who first meet us on the web. First impressions are so important so we are investing a considerable amount of time on this project. Stay tuned for the go live announcement.

Time to Run

There is no doubt there is a revolution taking place. Digital marketing is growing at an unprecedented pace. Does this spell the end for traditional promotional marketing? We think not. Digital and traditional marketing are rapidly becoming intertwined. Our goal is to keep our clients informed and in the forefront of this remarkable period.

Thanks for taking the time to catch up with us.

Sincerely,
