A holiday wish from us all here at
Trinity Hall
~ Irish Pub & Restaurant ~ |
|
Greetings!
We know that there are still plenty of shopping days left before Christmas and there is no reason to believe that we won't see you before the holiday, but we also remember how busy we all get as the last weekend approaches, so here's advance seasonal Cheer to lighten your spirit this week!
We are thankful not to be home in Ireland this last week or two! Its their second or third run of bad snow weather, and still no relief in sight! Great for school kids in the village, tough though for farmers and country residents. (There was even talk of running out of Grit, hopefully they don't start stealing sand off the beaches!)

The upside of the Soccer Match postponements this weekend is that there will be some great make up games later in the season. Check the schedule before coming to watch, as most EPL fixtures have been cancelled due to the weather. The Pub will close after 8 pm on Christmas Eve, and will reopen on St. Stephen's Day (Sunday 26th) If you have family in for the weekend, come out on Boxing Day to enjoy our Biggest Music Session Ever! All the out of town players are home for the holidays & will be joining our regular session players to raise a tune and have a little holiday cheer! 2PM - The SMU Band Alumni are sitting in for the school band at Wednesday's Basketball game (at home against Southeast Missouri State) as the full band will be in Fort Worth attending Pre-Armed Forces Bowl celebrations with the Football Team. So, after the B-Ball game the Diamond M Club are coming to Trinity Hall and we are going to replay the video of 1982 Football game between The Longhorns and the Mustangs! (A historic win for SMU before sanction era began) So, dress up in your Pony or Horns gear and come along and enjoy revisiting the past arguments and jibes! We'll be sampling Irish Coffee & Chef Oscar's Bread Pudding during the game. |

New Year's Eve Plans?
Always a topic of conversation around the party dinner table, plans for NYE! We are changing up our strategy for the evening by opening up the dining room, keeping our regular menu along with some specials for the evening. Reservations are not required, nor available this year, but we'll have plenty of seats for all!
The new plan allows the afternoon sing-along with the Irish Rogues to finish up a little later, and more leisurely than years past, followed by the addition of Jeff Phillips to our entertainment 7:30-9:30 while we wait for Seamus Stout to come in for the closing act at 10PM.
No cover or admission charge before 9PM, after which a $30 fee will apply.

THURSDAY DEC 30th @ 11:00 AM
Come be a part of history and watch the Army Black Knights vs SMU Mustangs at Ford Stadium. If you don't have tickets, come watch with us at the Pub, but whether you are heading to the stadium or watching on TV come have the pre-game party at Trinity Hall!
We'll open early starting at 8:30AM with breakfast & bloody mary specials to get you all ready for a great game!
The post game celebration of course will be in full form by the time you get here after stands clear, so just because the pub is full of uniforms and there are helicopters, and probably an Osprey or two flying overhead, its not that Martial law has been declared, but just the hositing of a beer between winners & losers! |

New Year's Day, we'll be here bright eyed and bushy tailed to welcome the start of another year, and we are quite pleased to get the chance to try it all again in the year ahead! We are thankful for your support this past year, and we promise to continue working to improve our products & service in the year ahead! We'll have Bowl Games starting at 11AM with Texas Tech, and TCU at 4 PM, there'll be Bloody Mary specials and Chef's NY Day Luck of the Texas Irish Breakfast - Black-eyed Peas in place of Heinz Beans! Our Open Session will be posponed to later in the month to allow for appropriate recovery from parties the night before, so all football & no fiddles!
We'll hope to see you in the week ahead, and definitely before the New Year begins, but if you are traveling away for the holiday, please travel safely and look us up when you get back!
Wishing you and yours "Nollaig Shona is Athbhlian Faoi Mhaoise!" We're looking forward to serving you this holiday season and in the year ahead! Marius Donnelly Proud Proprietor & A very fortunate man indeed!

In Memoriam: Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends James, Taylor, McKinnon, Leann, and Kim & Brittany as they mourn the passing of James' dad this past week. James & Taylor spoke often about Pat Rice and their times knocking around Poole, England and with their family in Dublin, Ireland. You'll know James from when we opened first, the flash guy with a quick smile, quicker wit & a great friend!
Services will be on Tuesday in Poole, England Obituary / Funeral Service Info |
