Weekend Events & Live Music Schedule! | |
Greetings!
Hope you have had a great week and are ready for a weekend of rest and relaxation? I am sure like all our fine hardworking patrons you have chores and projects to tackle, but don't forget to put aside a little "Pub Time" too! Its important to get out of the heat and share a little time with others in social situations, to maintain that happy balance! Rest assured that we sent all our extra TV's back to where they came from, and packed up our horns and drums for another season or two, and that the packed pubs because of World Cup won't be a challenge, and most will be back to normal by now! Big event this weekend is the Irish American Society's Wine & Roses Sunday afternoon soiree planned for Dallas. Adrienne Hussey shown here is our Texas Rose 2010, and preparing for a trip to Ireland here shortly, read more below! |

Clan Gutierrez Grows!
Chef Oscar & Peggy welcome Kristopher Jr as Grand Child #2! A big CONGRATULATIONS to Chef Oscar's son & daughter-in-law, Kris & Krystle who welcomed Kris Jr. to the family last friday afternoon. Now Kaitlyn has a younger brother to keep an eye on, and Uncle Matt (ex-Dallas Manager) has a nephew to watch over! Here's the happy couple who also just celebrated their 3rd Wedding Anniversary. |
IRISH MUSIC TRADITION CONTINUES
115+ Students attend TIMES Youth Camp in DFW The amazing folk involved with the Traditional Irish Music Education Society deserve a big round of applause for another massive contribution to the development of Trad Irish Music here in DFW. Following on the successes of their annual O'Flaherty Music Retreat in October, this camp specifically targets 6 years to 17 year old musicians. Each year has been better attended than previously and it appears that there should be plenty of Trad Irish Music in Dallas for generations to come, thanks to the efforts of the volunteer & guest instructors! Watch for info on this year's October retreat and public concert! Want to experience the music first hand this weekend? SATURDAY - Weekly Session in Allen 4PM - 7PM Invited players sit in with local TIMES leaders for an Irish Jam! SUNDAY - Weekly Session in Dallas 3PM - 6 PM Its where it all started, and has been going on for over 7 years, I think! OPEN SESSION: - All Musicians interested in playing along can join in Sunday afternoon in Allen for the 3rd Sunday Open session. Music is all trad Irish, visit Trinity Hall Session Players site for details and tune lists. |

WINE & ROSES
An Irish American Society Event For the past 25 years, and this will be their 26th, the Texas Centre of the Rose of Tralee has selected a single young lady to return to Ireland to represent our community at the INternational Festival in Tralee. A gathering of some 40 centers worldwide celebrating the returning diaspora and the strong traditions and heritage of the Irsih Culture. Wine & Roses is a Sunday afternoon gathering to share a little background on the rose candidate, allow the community to meet Adrienne - this year's Texas Rose - and to hopefully raise a little pocket money for her to cover the expense of entertaining in Ireland for almost 10 days! Between social and official engagements the Rose is hard pressed to have new outfits for each occasion and of course some socializing with the folks in Tralee too! Stop in Sunday from 2 - 6 PM, buy a raffle ticket or two, enjoy the great session music and get to meet some of the Irish American Society here in DFW. (New Members signing up for the first time on Sunday, will receive a Gift Certificate for Trinity Hall!) |
Thanks Again! We're looking forward to seeing & serving you again soon and thank you for your busines!
Cheers,
Marius & The Pub Teams in Allen and Dallas! |
