Thank you for your votes at Pegasus News and the Ultimate Best of Off Poll! We've had a great week but most of that is based on enjoying great soccer! If you're not keen then it may seem not so much fun, but if you are surrounded by 200+ fans who all know the rules and thrive on the competition, then you know the adrenaline a fan can create! (I think the heat and the adrenaline are connected....)
Anyway, big week this week with a start Tuesday morning with New Zealand and Slovakia followed by the big match in Group D - Portugal and Ivory Coast - battling for the one slot out of the group of Death! Then, a nice cruiser with Brazil playing the short men from N. Korea.....sorry I don't know any North Koreans other than K.I.S. and he doesn't strike me as being very athletic.
Wednesday its Spain's debut at 9:00 AM followed by the new cinderellas Uruguay at Lunch Time. (Based on guest feed back we have our tivo set to record all the matches, and are happy to replay at your convenience, especially lunch time!) If you had to pick a team this week so far.... it had to be Germany! Spain may be the only competitor, but we haven't seen Portugal!
Wednesday we have invited our friends over from "1310 The Ticket" to come visit us in Allen, and they may not be great Soccer fans, they're used to hanging out talking about Baseball and other 3 & 4 hour games, and truly don't understand the skill of the beautiful game.
So, we need your help! If you'll come help us explain Soccer to their "commentators" I'll buy your lunch! The radio goes live in Allen at 12 Noon and they're with us until 7:00 PM, so anytime you are loose, and can come by and give them a hard time about talking about anything that is not World Cup Soccer would certainly be appreciated! Wear an FC Dallas Scarf, An DFW Outlaws Bandana, a USA Flag or simply let your server know you are there to support Soccer, and we'll buy your lunch - Specials Menu available until 2 PM .
Thank you to everyone that suffered through the extra humidity on Saturday to cheer the USA team on to a draw, imagine USA v England achieving a draw! Congratultions to Coach Bradley and the team! Remember we did say the best place to catch the match is with Friends and Family? Our best wishes go out to Richard C. & Bob R. who have made it a point to be here for the WC2010 matches so far and are leading our informal Return Guest poll! We won't give last names, but you know who you are!
So, last thought! Thank you for enjoying the game and thank you for helping us to become the place in DFW to watch Soccer! Now join us Wednesday for lunch or Happy Hour in Allen and tell me I owe you Lunch and I'll buy your food! Let us show the #1 Sports Radio Station in DFW that Soccer is Real, Its Here to Stay and We're not embarrased to support it! We only watch it because we enjoy it!
