The Pubs To Watch World Cup Soccer At !
World Cup Does Kick Off This Weekend,
But There's Other Stuff Too!
Greetings!

Its hard to concentrate these days, and not just because the temperature is rising and the sun is shining, but because we are preparing for the Quadrennial return of Soccer Mania! Which may not seem like much to the average non-soccer watcher, but to those in the know... there are 32 teams, each one has a superstar or two, some are healthier than others, some have rivals that they will meet in the first round of competition! The intrigue, the insight and the expectations are wearing down my brain.... - don't say it... (that's hardly the reason for the fall off in capacity but nice try)

Anyway, this  is a great time in the decade for soccer fans, and as a result you may see more of your friends and families with scarfes, flags, face paintings, etc.. Please don't give them a hard time, its only once every four years!

For our non-soccer friends, we have tried to maintain a slight amount of normalcy about the Pub events and activities, our recommendation is to visit us after 4 PM each day, we'll do our best to hide the TV's and screens! We appreciate your patronage and don't want to offend with less than our usual stellar service, especially if you are not impressed with Landon Donavan's scoring abilities! The Pubs will open at 6AM for the coming weeks, some matches will have 5 guests, others will have 500, if you are concerned about a date, give us a call before hand and we'll offer some guidance! Most soccer will be over by 3:30 PM and the pub should quickly return to normal!

We are working on the details of a party in Allen next Wednesday starting at 1PM and running through the evening. All are invited to stop by, we have some friends from the radio world visiting, there'll be ticket giveaways and promo products, live broadcasting of all kinds of high jinks and a variety of specials on offer too! PLUS A Whisky Tasting night to finish! Keep the date open and we'll post more details this weekend, be sure to catch our Facebook & Twitter feeds if you are on them!

Have a great week, we'll look forward to seeing you and serving you again soon!

Cheers,
Marius - Chief Watching Party Coordinator & Assistant TV Mover & Tuner!

YES.... IT REALLY IS THAT BIG!

Flags of the World Cup Tournament
WORLD CUP 2010 SOCCER TOURNAMENT
I know that we call it the World Series in Baseball, and that our SuperBowl winners are World Champs, but really... a tournament that takes 4 years has over 130 countries enter and finishes with 30 days of the best soccer in the Universe... That really is World Class BIG!

More so this year than our last 2 in Dallas. If you remember our first we were the only Pub open overnight, 24 hours a day, just so we could share a cup of coffee and Soccer LIve from Asia!

Our second, was easier, played in Germany and closer to our time zone, we actually got to sleep at night! Now South Africa starting this Friday morning!

How big a change in the number of soccer fans watching this year? Enough to fill the American Airlines Center plaza at Victory Station for the USA V England match on Saturday! AND the Angelika Theater to open up for a free screening on a REALLY BIG Screen - with captain chair comfort, AND for Trinity Hall Allen to already have over 100 fans talking about camping out on Friday night to be sure they get prime seats for Saturday - RV Parking available - not to mention the addition of a second projector to Dallas' av repertoire!

Seriously though, the USA V England match will certainly be the most watched soccer match in the history of the USA, and considering our size, probably England too! Please take the advice of USA Supporters clubs and make plans early, expect wherever you are to be hot & muggy - AC doesn't work if the doors are open - wear light clothes, have a great breakfast to keep you going for the day, and if at all possible gather at a friends house with your neighbors to enjoy the match in comfort. Many pubs have pre-sold tickets to limit attendance, others will be full by 7 AM, many may not be "family-friendly" by game time. Visit our webpage for alternative venues to catch the match with like-minded families & friends, especially for first time attendees of a match this big!
