Dear ;
First, a big THANK YOU to all of you that were able to register a vote or two on our behalf in the D Magazine Best of Nightlife, Polls closed Sunday and we won't know the results until later in Summer, but we appreciate your efforts!
Around this time of the year, we can sometimes be mistaken as a Sports Bar or at least a sports-friendly bar, but really its just the end of season before the heat of summer arrives! So, today we have the UEFA Soccer semi-finals, then we're showing FC Dallas play in their US Open match via webcast, and of course our newest passion... supporting the Allen Americans CHL Ice Hockey team in their 3rd game in the Final Series being played here in Allen's Event Center.
Last week was a whirlwind with the wrapping up of the International Film Festival and last minute screenings and celebrity visits to the Station, Mockingbird Station re-launched the Farmers Market on Earth Day - Thursday evenings - and then Erin Reid and Lonestar Ceili Band hosted Allen's 1st Pub Ceili Dance class on Saturday evening, not to mention the great patio weather the whole time had guests coming and going throughout the weekend.
This weekend, we're helping out at the Festival by the Lake - WhiteRock Foundation's annual party on the lake front, with a return visit by Seamus Stout on Saturday evening! If all goes well
the MayDay weather will hold off the heavy stuff until after the weekend! But besides the party by the lake, there's a Rose of Tralee event in Frisco, The American Film Festival at Angelika and Matt's Last Pub Quiz night in Dallas! Read on below for more info and all the details you'll need to pass along to get your friends to come along too.
We are trying to learn the ropes and develop our Facebook fan page as we hear from our guests that they get most of their scoop from their friends status updates, and many enjoy the ability to post immediate feedback too, so if you are a FB'er check out our business page and become a fan - or "Like" us I guess is the new terminology? If quick blurbs are preferred follow our Twitter feed, most active when events are on, but last minute changes to schedules are tweeted too!
Thanks for being a fan of the Pub, for your support and patronage, and for keeping us involved in the activities that are important to you in our community!
Cheers,
Marius

DREAD THE RED! We are proud of first year franchise team players on Allen Americans, from new guys to serious contenders for the President's Cup in the CHL, AND the Allen Community for the outpouring of support and attendance at the Allen Event Center this past couple of weeks! WAY TO GO REDS! |
This Saturday & Sunday | Festival By The Lake
Did you know that Whiterock Lake is the USA's largest urban lake & recreation area? What a fantastic resource it has become over the years since the local community became active in adding running & bike trails, sailing & canoeing clubs, adding lighting & parking. We have many, many guests that stop in to see us each week after their walk, run, bike around the lake.
So, the Festival is our opportunity to support the efforts of those key people who take it upon themselves to become champions for the neighborhood, and improve all of our lives as a result. Check out the flyer, click on the band schedules, and then plan an afternoon by the lake this weekend. The festival benefits the improvement plans of the Whiterock Lake Foundation. its $5 at the gate and then there are lots of family fun entertainment to enjoy!

Enjoy matches LIVE in Frisco! | FC Dallas play DC United tonight & NE Revolution on Sat
Coach Schellas and the Hoops in Frisco played all the way through their match against Seattle this past week, bringing it home in the last minutes with a tieing up of the score with a penalty goal. Tonight, they are in DC to play in the US Open Cup, but its not on TV so the only place to catch the match is on the webcast - http://www.fcdallas.com/matchday/live - Of course, Trinity Hall will have it via webstream too so join us in Dallas or Allen at 6:30PM to catch the action.
Next up, Saturday's match in New England, with what is sure to be a battle with the NE Revolution. This match is on TV and we'll have it on the big screens in both pubs! "Trinity Hall is an official Pub Partner location for FC Dallas. Join us this Saturday, May 1, to watch FC Dallas take on New England Revolution. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m., but get here early to enjoy a pint with friends."

USA Film Festival This Weekend | 40th USA FILM FESTIVAL returns starting TONIGHT! We have a tough time separating the different Film Festivals by name, but not by personality! The USA Film Festival is home grown and now hostings its 40th year of screenings. Tonight sees Michael Caine in Harry Brown, a vigilante movie with an English accent!
Saturday night a Dallas produced movie titled "Upper Hand" is screening at 9:30 PM and we understand that there will be all kinds of celebrities and locals attending!
Here's a note from Hector Garcia of Hectors on Henderson.... "Upper Hand is action packed and I play the role of "King", a club owner who does bad, bad things. Check out the web site for this film. Play the trailer! Dallas looks fantastic! My character's name is King and I'm not a nice guy. Upper Hand Tickets in advance are only available through Ticketmaster 214-631-2787"
Its a late screening so plan to stop in to the Pub for a snack before hand and of course, a drink or nightcap afterwards! |
Show your love for your Texas Roses (Past and Present) as they perform for you LIVE at Lochrann's Irish Pub, Frisco, in the

TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER AT THE PUBS!
We've been playing Texas Holdem at the Pub in Dallas for years, thanks to a core group of players who started with us when there were games all over town and have stuck with us as the many of the other games wrapped up. We host a friendly game and have stayed away from Leagues and outside games to keep it that way, until NOW!
We have started working with the Drawing Dead Poker Tour which runs table tournaments in a number of Pubs & Restaurants up in Collin & Denton county and are ready to introduce themselves to Dallas! We'll be kicking off in Allen on Sunday May 9th and in Dallas on Wednesday May 12th at 7:00 PM (Our regular Monday & Thursday games continue without change)
More details in following email, but generally tables of 9 play with a dealer, everyone starts with 3,000 in chips, table winners proceed to a finals table at 10:30 +/- A new table opens about every 45 minutes, and you play your table until someone wins, once out you can join the next opening table and try again.
Send the Pit Boss a note if you'd like more details and the Drawing Dead Poker Tour game rules. |
The Irish American Society is hosting a dinner at the Italian Club on Inwood Road Friday Week, so you have a full week to get the details and find out where the Club is!
