We're getting up early this weekend!
Greetings!
The added boost of an extra hour of sleep last Sunday morning has made this a very productive week! Of course, with the sports schedule tomorrow we'll be giving up the rest just as easy this weekend.
Can you point to anything that you did with the extra hour this week? I can, thanks to my beautiful, dare devilette wife and our crazy cousins-in-laws, I consumed six minutes of it falling to the earth from 13,500 feet - Thankfully, I was attached to a parachutist at the time and was able to enjoy the thrill of skydiving with none of the worry of how it all works!
This week at the Pub we spent the week cleaning up for the holidays, we re-upholstered our banquettes, had some stitching done and recovered a bunch of the barstools - lots more foam in there now, so all the better for sitting on!
We're still working on schedules a little bit but most of our tastings are in for November, there are two separate beer tastings and then a Chivas Regal tasting highlighting the new 25 year edition!
Check out our Music selections too! We're hosting "Dirty Maggie Mae" on stage tonight - Beatles tunes without pretending to be the actual Beatles!
Oh yeah, the reason we are getting up early tomorrow? Manchester United play Arsenal (English Soccer) @ 6:40 AM! After that we have the Fall Tour Rugby matches from down-under coming on and running almost all day! Read On For More Details & Stories! |

Fall Tour Rugby - Expanded Coverage!
Our friends at Setanta have expanded their reach this year and will be sending us the closed circuit feeds for not only the England matches, but also, Ireland's, Wale's and Argentina's match aganist France.
Check our Sports Page for the Tour matches being shown this year. And, a reminder these are PPV matches - $20 per person per match day - stay for one match or them all same $ |
Hawg Wings - We Call Them Mini Bucco
Every so often a new craze comes through the restaurant trade, it can be startling what works - who would have guessed that Wings would be the basis of many empires...
Well here's another new cut. Around town you may see Hawg Wings - around the Pub we call them Mini Bucco's! If you have ever had our Awesome Bucco, the full pork shank that is braised & served with rich Shitake Glace or a Marinara that looks like a dinosaur bone going past your table....this is the petit version! A 4oz Pork Shank, braised on the bone, finished with Chef Oscar's smokey BBQ sauce and served on Mash on a small side plate. This is a great afternoon - pre going home to dinner snack - or order the pair plate with 2 for a light lunch. They're not on the menu, so you'll have to ask for them by name! (Enjoy with JWDundees Honey Lager - a great match & refreshing too!)

Tasting Line Up For November
So, we skipped the Whiskey Tasting last week to allow all of us to sit back and enjoy the fun of election night... and now we are ready to jump back in!
This Tuesday is Holiday Beer Night! - We'll taste through the Celebrations, Noels & Winter Warmers!
Following Tuesday, its The Trinity Troubadour Night featuring Bocks, Doppelbocks & the latest release from Franconia Brewing in McKinney (If TABC Approves in time)
Last Tuesday of the month we're sitting with our Chivas Regal team to learn more about one of the top Blends from Scotland! We'll be featuring the Strathisla single malt, an Islay component and then the three or 4 expressions of Chivas including the latest release a 25 year old!

A Big Barrel Of Fun!
We've been big fans of Deschutes and we're looking forward to it getting cold enough to bring the Black Butte Porter back on draft. But in the meantime, we have the Mirror Pond Ale & Black Butte Porter in the bottles!

Jack Murphy A Longhorn?
No, our favorite Trojan fan has not converted, he was just still wearing his Halloween Costume from the night before... Scary!
|
Featured Brewer!
We have spoken about this craft brewer before, but they are well worth bringing up again, especially this week as they release the famous
Ten Fidy Imperial Stout
(its named after its big ABV%)
Oskar Blues is a craft brewer in Lyon, CO that cans all their beers, and always has. They get huge ratings on the Dale's Ale, Gordon's Pale and Old Chub Scotch Ale. Expect the 10-50 to disappear quick, if you're interested get out to your favorite Pub tonight! |
