Happy Birthday Mr Wiggins, Many Happy Returns & More To Come! |
|

Good Afternoon
Its going to be a great weekend at the Pub, starting off with great rugby during lunch (Currie Cup live from Southern Hemisphere!) nice patio weather and Jeff Phillips entertaining us this evening, then up bright and early for Soccer, followed by the GAA Minors rematch - Tyrone goes for the double win!, then the musicians from TIMES will begin to set up for Saturday's Music fundraiser for TIMES & O'Flaherty's Irish Music Retreat in October.
Sunday is a full morning again with more sports and the not well known but well attended GAA Women's Football Final - Monaghan plays Cork for the honors - (Both GAA matches are free this weekend too!)
We're in the midst of our Oktoberfest Beer season, which means we are changing taps around at rapid pace with 2 Oktos on draught and another 10+ in bottle and one very big can! Highlight of the social season will be the Oktoberfest Tasting on Tuesday!
Have you heard the High Kings yet? A four-some of Irish ballad singers are coming to Dallas for the night on Thursday, read more below!
Last up in the notes, we're trying to get in touch with one of our guests, Judy Hungary or Albania we think, we were able to pull some strings with some Irish lads and we believe the match she has been pestering us about - live from the RDS may actually be made available. We know she's quite popular in town, and runs with a big crowd, so if you happen to know her, and you'd know if you did, can you stop by and leave a note on her desk or something to check the Sports page for details...! It may be cryptic, but its a lot of fun when 100 people pass on a message to the same person!
If you are an Irish Rugby Fan though it may be worth visiting our sports page for fixtures this weekend, or come visit us at the Pub on Sunday morning!
Cheers,
Marius

ONE LAST GAA SHOW - FREE! The Minors All Ireland Finals Rematch between Tyrone & Mayo
It is among the last major conspiracy theory that survives in Ireland these days, the one that the GAA may pay Finals teams to draw, just so that they can get everyone back to Dublin for a rematch, and another weekend of fun & sport!
The Irish don't add overtime, or do a shootout, they simply go home with the draw and come back next week to play again!
So, in addition to the Men's Football Finals for Under 21's we will also be able to catch the LADIES Football Final between Cork & Monaghan! (Where are you now, not-so-young, Mr Devlin!)
NO COVER CHARGES THIS WEEK! | |

UMAMI - Its Real and its becoming famous!
Quite often when we are hosting a tasting we get to talking about the 5th palate sense, as in Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter and Umami! Well no-one ever believes Marius about this "taste of the texture of baked potato or fresh plain pasta"
Well, someone sent me an email today all about UMAMI and I wanted to pass it along, we'll discuss this further on your next visit to the pub!
