I hope the weather in Dublin on Sunday morning is half as good as it has been here this week! The All Ireland Football Finals will be played in Croke Park with a North vs South battle of powerhouse counties - Tyrone & Kerry - both are well able and used to the pressure of the big day.
The Minors (Under 21) Championship Finals play first with a throw in at 7:30 AM between Mayo and the same Tyrone! The McCann's will be in great form by the end of this day!
We're waking the staff up early and we'll be showing both matches live on the big screen, and the kitchen will have our full Irish Breakfast, with Back rasher, plump bangers, black & white puddings, eggs, beans & toast, on special for the early risers! For those that can't handle the pass of GAA Football, there is a slower soccer match on the back TV between Chelsea & Man Utd. Glasgow Celtic will come on at 10 AM.
But way before we get to Sunday, we're expecting a busy weekend with the resurgent SMU Football team taking on TCU of Fort Worth Saturday evening at SMU, a great opportunity for our Ft Worth guests to ride the train over stop in for a pint or two before the match and then stop in after to tap your feet with SHIFT! playing on stage!
Thanks to all that stopped in and said HI! last weekend at Off The Vine in Grapevine. Off The Vine is the 15 year old wine & gift basket shop on the Main Street - directly across from the Gazebo - Holly, Cilla, Dwight & Becky are a great team and although the titles changed, the commitment to finding fun & flavors in all their wines is still true! Holly has taken over the store from Becky who is committed to catching up on her spontaneous travel to wine country!
Plans are being finalized for the Fundraiser at the end of the month for the O'Flaherty Irish Music Retreat planned for October, 2008. Ken and the Traditional Irish Music Education Society have lined up great music starting early and playing until close on Sat. Sept 27th There won't be a cover charge, but there will be plenty of opportunities to buy raffle tickets and offer donations!
So thank you for your patronage this week, this month and these past seven years. We appreciate you choosing Trinity Hall for dining and entertainment, and allowing us to serve. If you can suggest any improvements in any area of our service or product offerings, I hope that you will feel comfortable letting me know.
(If you are not comfortable, you can leave an annonymous message on the pub's voicemail, or drop an unsigned note in the mail...)
We hope you have a great weekend, and that after all the chores are taken care of you'll have a moment or two to stop in and catch up with us at Trinity Hall!
Cheers,
