Greetings!

We have a lot to tell you about this week, its almost like we couldn't get anything else done as long as Rugby World Cup was hanging over us, all the moving TV's in, rewiring, moving all the furniture and then putting it back, I can tell you our backs are aching, but it was a lot of fun!

Congrats to our SpringBok friends and there's not too many fans that though England got much further than expected during the first round, so congrats to you all too.

Thank you to our regular guests that put up with our suggestions not to stop by during the unusual or overly busy periods, we of course would much prefer to serve you in the manner in which you are accustomed, but some times the call of duty is simply to loud and we must allow some new friends to visit too ....

We could use your help with another poll, this one hosted by the Mix 102.9 Morning Team Tony ZaZaa & Victoria Snee, they're looking for the best Restaurant Vibe in DFW!

Finally, the holidays are coming and we want to be your office's Happy Hour spot! We'll put together a package of drinks & apps either on a per person or per hour rate, we'll get it to you by email and we'll take care of your guests with no extra work for you! (Underground parking reopens by Thanksgiving!)

Once again, thank you for your business, please read on to learn more about the fun we have planned for the week ahead!

Cheers,

Marius

WILL YOU CLICK A VOTE FOR US?

Best Restaurant Vibe, now isn't that how we all describe the Pub? I mean its the guests, the feel of the place, the smiley staff that are warm & friendly and actually care whether you enjoy the new beer they suggested?

So, the poll winners are apparently announed on Friday, so we need some extra effort to get the canvassing done and ask everyone to log on to Mix1029.com, Click on Best of DFW and then Vote for Trinity Hall Irish Pub!

We Thank You For Your Support!

Halloween Is Coming!

Samhain (Gaelige for Halloween) is a genuinely Irish cultural tradition. Its origins date back to the time of the Druids when winter was a time to be feared. Before the onset of the depths of winter a huge celebration was held. This was partly to celebrate the end of the harvest season and a last party before the onset of winter semi-hibernation. As part of the custom of Halloween bonfires were lit throughout the land to ward off evil spirits.

The use of Jack O'Lanterns as festival lights for Halloween is a custom that has descended from the Irish, who originally used turnips or beets as lanterns on Halloween night.  On Halloween these lights represented the souls of the dead.  When the Irish emigrated to America they were unable to find many turnips to carve into Jack O'Lanterns and used pumpkins instead which have been an essential part of Halloween celebrations ever since.
