RUGBY WORLD CUP

Semi Final Weekend

The Rugby World Cup tournament is 4 matches from over, and this weekend is the critical Semi Finals matches. One on Saturday and the other Sunday, both at the reasonable time of 2:00 PM

YES IT TRULY IS A HUGE EVENT! Trinity Hall and the Londoner in Addison are the only 2 commercial outlets showing the semi finals and finals apparently. Therefore, any rugby fan and especially our friends in the English, French, South African & Argentinian communities, this will be either a life affirming weekend or the end of a four year trek. (The Irish retired out of the competition with a highly disappointing and lackluster performance that was unexpected.)

In order to accomodate the expected viewing audience, the matches will be shown by Trinity Hall in the vacant restaurant & event space beside us. We have 2 large projectors, 100 chairs and lots of standing room in there, limited food service and a bar that will concentrate on bottled beer & cans of cider, but we believe a better shot of seeing the match than in the pub!

The weekend starts with the England V Estonia Soccer match Saturday morning ($20 PPV @ 9 AM) and then the next big match is the Rugby match between ENGLAND & FRANCE at 2 PM! (Ireland V Germany will be broadcast tape delayed at 4 PM)

Whiskey Meet Up
Goes Golfing!

Our online group of Whisky Enthusiasts joined the Glenlivet brand ambassador and the Dallas team for a great night at the Glenlivet City Links course set up in Thanksgiving Tower in Downtown Dallas.

It is a great place to gather and sample the full range of Glenlivet's whisky from the bright & easy going 12 year old, to their 15 year French Oak aged version, the spicy 18 year, deliciously mellow 21 year old Archive and the feisty 16 year old Nadurra, cask strength no less and 16 years old too!

Sat: Paddy Gone Wild, The Tipperary Inn's Friday night house band comes up to visit. A huge group of energetic musicians playing trad Irish with vim & vigor!

Sun: The first mixed session play afternoon at the Pub! Invited & Advanced open players join together for an afternoon of playing & sharing the best of Trad Irish Music & Dance!

READY FOR THE FALL?

What a delightful morning we have today, the sun is shining, birds are singing and there's a fall crispness to the air! Or it could be that now that the Rugby Tournament is almost over, we all get to sleep in a little this week! Amazing what a little extra nap does for one's attitude, we strongly recommend a big (Irish)breakfast and a nice leisurely nap for all this weekend!

We hope to see you before your nap and if not, directly after, or even just sometime in the week ahead. We've got events planned most evenings so if you're looking for a reason to come sit on the patio, this could be the week!
