2007 Texas Rose of Tralee Candidates

I know your first thought was that these beautiful young women were gathering for Bloomsday 2007, but no, these are some of the candidates for the title of
Texas Rose of Tralee 2007
Our newest Rose was selected last Saturday evening at the Adam's Mark Hotel. Watch the website for updated pictures & background of this year's candidate Rose!

Bloomsday is a commemoration observed annually on 16 June in Dublin and elsewhere to celebrate the life of Irish writer James Joyce and relive the events in his novel Ulysses, all of which took place on the same day in Dublin in 1904. The day is a secular holiday in Ireland. The name derives from Leopold Bloom, the protagonist of Ulysses, and 16 June was the date of Joyce's first outing with his wife-to-be, Nora Barnacle, when they walked to the village of Ringsend.
Raise a pint to Mr Joyce this Saturday!

COPA ORO & COPA LIBERATORE Soccer matches are being played this weekend and next week. The America's Gold Cup is a championship between national teams, USA plays in the Quarter Finals this Saturday! Liberatore is a club championship with Finals on Wednesday next! NEW BREWS on Tap include the latest Annviersary Brew from Shiner Bock! The Shiner 98 is their 98th Anniversary celebration and is an Amber or Red Ale style similar to the brewery's Kolsch.

Remember, there's no tasting this Tuesday but we will be offering the Wine Tasting the following week - Tuesday 26th!

STRATHSPEY FIDDLERS

Strathspey Fiddlers
The Strathspey Fiddlers is one of the most sought after groups in Scotland. They were formed many years ago under the guidance and expertise of Donal Barr. They are a group of performers from a rural area straddling the Aberdeenshire/Banffshire border in the North of Scotland. Although the majority are fiddlers, they also play other instruments such as bag pipes, drums and whistles, while others perform traditional Highland Dancing. Their vocalists sing in Gaelic and the local Scots dialect.
