In the past few months, I've given a number of
trainings on marketing and media relations for the
Massachusetts Association of Community
Development Corporations, Emerge Massachusetts,
and Democracy for America.
If you'd like to attend, I'll be presenting a Business Marketing and Public Relations seminar for the City of Somerville on Wednesday, July 9th from 8:00 a.m.-- 9:30 a.m. at the SCAT building in Union Square. The event is free and open to the public. Finally, I've written a couple of articles that might be of interest: Marketing through E- Newsletters, and Winning Media Coverage for the Work You Do. |

In May, we welcomed Layne Anderson as a summer
Communications Associate. A graduate of Emerson
College, she has managed successful city council
and mayoral races in Massachusetts, and served as a
staffer for Deval Patrick's winning 2006 gubernatorial
bid, where her duties included field coordination,
advance, event planning, and speechwriting.
Anderson also serves as a consultant in the
speechwriting and advance departments of Senator
Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

As some of you may know, I'm writing and directing a
documentary film called The Work of
1000, about a Massachusetts housewife who led
the cleanup of one of the nation's 10 most polluted
rivers. In the past few months, I've given talks
alongside our producer Susan Edwards and Marion
Stoddart, the 80 year-old heroine of the story, to
audiences at the University of Massachusetts-Boston,
Holy Cross College, Fitchburg First Thursdays, and
more. We're continuing to film and edit this summer.
We are extremely pleased to have obtained fiscal sponsorship from Documentary Educational Resources, a prestigious organization dedicated to producing and promoting documentary films internationally. |
