Greetings!

I'm writing to let you know that the non-emergency adult dental services covered by Medicaid are again on the chopping block.  Yesterday Governor Rell released her deficit mitigation plan, which calls for the decimation of this critical coverage as a cost-saving mechanism.  You and I both understand that a stitch in time saves nine.  Simply put, maintaining routine, preventive care is smart and affordable.  The alternative, to be penny wise and pound foolish, does a disservice to the people of Connecticut.

Please Call Your Legislators!!!

Let your state senator and representative know the health care safety net, including its oral health care provisions, is too fundamental to the welfare of Connecticut's people, economy and infrastructure to be cut.  Urge them to protect adult dental services as they work to find better solutions to mitigate the impact of our budget deficit.

To contact your legislator click here and find them under the members tabs in the Senate and House tabs along the left side of the page.  Or call 860-240-8500 for the House Democrats, 860-240-8600 for the Senate Democrats, 860-240-8800 for Senate Republicans or 860-240-8700 for the House Republicans.

Lastly, please join us for our Oral Health Allies meeting on Tuesday, December 8th, 10:00 am-11:30 am in Room 2600 of the Legislative Office Building in Hartford.  We look forward to talking with you about the proposed cuts and our proposed solutions to advance oral health for all.  RSVP to register@ctoralhealth.org.  You can reach us at 860-246-2644.
