| Public Hearing on HB 7069 is Monday |
We have just learned that the The General
Assembly's Public Health Committee will
schedule a public hearing for HB
7069, 'An Act Concerning Access to Oral
Health Care' on Monday at 10:00 AM in Room
1D of the Legislative Office Building
Written testimony is urgently needed,
please see the feature article to the
right.
The bill would raise HUSKY dental
reimbursement rates for children under the
age of 19 to the 70th percentile.
Other provisions include appointing up to six
'regional oral health coordinators' to assist
HUSKY children in areas with poor access to care.
It would also formally establish the State
Office of Oral
Public Health within the State Department of
Health.
HB 7069's reimbursement language mirrors last
year's bill that successfully cleared the
Public Health and Appropriations Committees.

| Focused Spoken Testimony Planned |
|
Oral Health advocates are planning to have a
group of 8-10 people provide focused spoken
testimony at the public hearing on Monday.
Because of the work that we have all done so
far, legislators on the committee are aware
of the basic issue and what is needed now in
the spoken testimony are answers to specific
issues.
We are still recruiting those speakers, and
if you are contacted please make every effort
to participate.
