Greetings!

The annual Washington DC Pen Show was a great success for Conway Stewart and the renowned  English silversmith Henry Simpole.
Image of Henry Simpole at work during the DC pen showHenry was stationed at the Conway Stewart exhibition tables and demonstrated how he hand crafts his  meticulous carvings and overlays during the show. He also exhibited many of his past masterpieces, selected from his personal collection.

Each design is meticulously planned on paper with this process taking up to 80 hours to ensure that the features of the overlay enhance the shape of the pen model.

The image to the right details Henry painstakingly cutting out a sterling silver filigree overlay by hand. One mistake of the  saw results in many hours of work scrapped. Each part is polished to a silky smooth finish to further highlight these magnificent pieces.

It is very time consuming to create the overlay designs, but the end result is a work of art, an heirloom piece for many generations to come.

The exclusive filigrees created for Conway Stewart cleverly incorporate in a very understated manner the initials 'C' and 'S' of the company name, something that many owners today still haven't been made aware of!

Wellington Series

Image of Duke of Wellington

In honor of Sir Arthur Wesley, Conway Stewart commemorates the Duke of Wellington's life by offering the Wellington model within our range of fine quality writing instruments.

Wellington is widely considered as one of the leading military and political figures of the first half of the 19th century, a prominent figure in the history of England. He achieved many heights throughout his political career: an Anglo-Irish general and statesman, chief secretary for Ireland, ambassador to France, commander in chief of the British army, victor at the Battle of Waterloo, twice British prime minister and was one of the leading figures in the House of Lords.

Wellington Classic Black

The striking new design has been crafted with a subtly curvaceous form to both cap and barrel, an exciting new shape that sets the Wellington apart from traditional pen designs.

The Wellington was created with an eye to the Continental flair for a sleek and classic look. This combines with our time honored use of rich marbled resin and polished gold trim to result in a pen that suits both high fashion as well as tasteful refinement.
The Wellington is offered in four popular classic colours gleaming jet Black, rich Classic Brown, elegant Classic Green and the modern Black Whirl.
