Dear Friends:

As the current financial and economic crisis deepens and spreads, and as President-Elect Obama prepares to take office in January, we are all living in an historic if uncertain moment. When financial stability and economic growth return the world will certainly be a different place, and the United States' role and power in it will be redefined by events and the new administration in Washington. At the Levin Institute our focus is on key aspects of the changing dynamics of globalization, in our teaching, research and public engagement programs. In this update report we want to you to know of new developments here. They include new scholars at the Institute who will broaden and deepen our programs, as well as important recent events and new partnerships we are establishing as the Institute grows.
