Dear ,
It's spring! And as the warm weather comes, so does the outdoor music.
We've got an outdoor performance coming up this Sunday, April 26 in Northboro. You can read more about it below.
Also in this issue: New (high-quality) video from the Bull Run show, our latest setlist, a spotlight on Gillian Welch and some recommendations for upcoming live music in the area.
Get out there and enjoy that sunshine (when it's not raining)!
All the best, P.S. You may know that I don't make my living by singing (that would be nice). I am a marketer for software company by day. I recently got to use my singing talents for my company. Check out my music video "Sales Hero." Be prepared, it's not American roots music! |
Benefit for Children with Autism - April 26
|

The band and I will be playing at a great event coming up on Sunday, April 26 at Romaine's Restaurant
in Northboro, MA. Owner, Richard Romaine, and friends are a throwing a big
party to raise money to help children with autism.
While I would like
to say that they best part is the band, I have to admit that
all-you-can-eat BBQ sounds pretty darn good!
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children.

Come on out!In addition to the music, two companies - Kadient (where I work) and MarketingProfs are teaming up to sponsor some networking complete with free wings and t-shirts. The fun starts at 7:30 and the music at 9:00.Find more details here.

A videographer captured the show with three different cameras and then brought it all together with the audio track. Fancy, eh?
The end result is pretty cool. Here are a few of the songs for your listening and viewing pleasure:
Hound Dog
Last Fair Deal
Ain't No Sunshine
Goodhearted Woman

Set List from the Bull Run Show
|
Several people asked me for the set list from the show at the Bull Run. I'm glad that by coming to our show people are introduced to new music!
Here's a list of all the songs we did on 3-28 and the original artists we were covering. In some cases we are doing a cover of a cover, with the Johnny Cash songs in particular -- Keb Mo's "Folsom Prison Blues", Maria Muldar's "Walking the Blues" and Rosie Flores' "Big River."
See the set lists and original artists (or cover artists) here.

Gillian Welch

If you've been to one of my shows, you've probably heard me sing, "Tear My Stillhouse Down" or "I Wanna Sing that Rock and Roll."
These are songs by one of my favorite singer/songwriters, Gillian Welch. She writes and performers with her partner, David Rawlings.
Gillian was discovered in Nashville by TBone Burnett. Her music is often described as haunting and minimalistic. It has an old-timey feel to it. It's really beautiful. And David's guitar playing is amazing.
In this clip, you'll get to hear the duos' classic style in the song "Miss Ohio" performed at the Hardly
Strictly Bluegrass Festival See the video
You can also learn more about Gillian and her music on her website.

Recommendation: I love her albums Revival and Revelator. I listen to them all the time.
