Diversity and Inclusiveness in the Nonprofit Sector Ethnic and racial diversity is a topic that receives a lot of attention in any conversation about human capital in the nonprofit sector. While hiring people from diverse backgrounds is a huge priority for many organizations, the nonprofit sector is not as successful as it could be in recruiting, hiring and retaining people of color.   How diverse is the nonprofit sector? Taking a Strategic Approach to Performance Management Effective performance management is key to staff development and retention.
