NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHT Peer Health Exchange
|
|
Peer Health Exchange (PHE) is a national non-profit
organization whose mission is to give teenagers the knowledge and skills they
need to make healthy decisions. They do
this by training college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in
public high schools that lack health education.
Since their founding in 2003, they have grown to a staff of 18 and a budget
of $2.6M and they have trained more than 1,500 college student volunteers to
deliver effective health education to 15,000 public high school students in New
York City, Boston, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area. By 2012, their goal
is to have trained 10,000 college students to reach 100,000 public high school
students across eight cities, empowering these teens to make healthy decisions
and building a strong base for future growth.
Peer Health Exchange is currently hiring for a Director of Finance and Administration.

Talking the Talk: A Social
Entrepreneur's Glossary
Nonprofits have their own language that helps them define who they
are and what they do. For some, it can be hard to understand the nonprofit
vernacular, but there's no need to cue the horrifying flashbacks to sixth grade
English vocabulary lists. In this article, we'll get you started with some of
the words that many nonprofits use to describe their
work.
