Just weeks away from the election, and in the midst of what's being called the "largest financial crisis in 90 years," jobseekers are asking us how these factors will impact hiring in the social sector. While it is hard to predict the long-term consequences of the current situation, we can report that our partner organizations continue to grow and are hiring to support that growth.
Another national event impacting the social sector is the soon-to-be adoption of some exciting new legislation, the Serve America Act, which will greatly expand the scope of volunteer service in the country. For jobseekers, particularly sector switchers and young professionals, this legislation will result in many more opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the social sector. (Read more about this legislation and its potential impact on the social sector workforce in a guest blog from our Founder and CEO, James Weinberg).
In this month's newsletter, you'll find listings of the latest job opportunities at the nation's most socially entrepreneurial organizations, as well as news, articles, and event listings of interest to mission-driven jobseekers.
We hope this information continues to be helpful to you.
Sincerely,
The Team at Commongood Careers
