Chocolate News from Tre Sorelle Cioccolato

Welcome Fall! Cool days and cooler nights are upon us which is perfect weather for chocolate. There are lots of fun events and holidays this month. Tre Sorelle will be creating treats for all your October events.

Want something fun for your little one to do? Then don't miss the Fancy Nancy Soiree on the 16th for your 5 - 10 year olds. We have partnered with the BGSU-Firelands Theatre Department for this terrific event. That is followed by the Children's Class on the 23rd. Attendees will make some scary (but fun) pretzel rods just in time for Halloween.

We didn't forget the adults either! Decorate for Halloween with an edible centerpiece - a chocolate Haunted House!

The 16th also brings both Boss' Day and Sweetest Day. We will have STRAWBERRIES!!! available on Saturday. Treat your sweetie to this delectable combination. Pre-orders are recommended as these sell out quickly.

Sweet Holidays in October

October 16th is a busy day! This year both Boss' Day and Sweetest Day fall on Saturday Oct. 16th. Most people however are likely to celebrate Boss' Day at work on Friday Oct 15th. That gives us Saturday to honor those sweet people in your lives!

How can Tre Sorelle help you with either or both? Here are a few gift ideas:

Sweetest Day

Dipped Strawberries - Order early. We will have strawberries on Saturday Oct 16th only! To ensure availability please pre-order. Otherwise it is first come, first served. Box of 6 for $14

Boss' Day

Pretzel towers are a stack of 12 chocolate covered pretzels with an assortment of flavors - M&Ms, peanuts, sprinkles, and drizzles of more chocolate. $18

Fancy Nancy Soiree

Tre Sorelle has partnered with the Theatre Department of BGSU-Firelands for a fun Soiree for the budding performers in your household. This Soiree will feature the Fancy Nancy books The Show Must Go On and Poet Extraordinaire.

We will read both books aloud and there will be an activity created by BG students and faculty. We finish with tasty chocolate treats and pink hot cocoa - tres chic!

The soiree is from 1:00 - 2:30 on Saturday October 16th. Cost is $15 per child. Register and pay by October 2nd to Tre Sorelle Cioccolato 419-502-2462. This class is for children ages 5 to 10. Haunted Houses Made Easy

Construct your own haunted house out of chocolate and decorate with additional chocolates and other candies. Think gingerbread house - but made with chocolate and a little bit off-kilter! Each student makes 1 house. Class runs from 6:00 - 7:00 on Tuesday October 19th. Cost is $15 per adult. Ages 16 and up. Register and pay by October 12th to Tre Sorelle Cioccolato 419-502-2462. (Minimum class size: 5, maximum class size: 12)

Halloween Pretzel Rods

Each student will use chocolate "paint" to highlight the fun Halloween characters in each mold. Then add pretzel rods and more chocolate (milk, dark or white) to turn them into a unique treat! Each student makes 1 tray of 4 pretzel rods.

Class runs from 1:00 - 2:30 on Saturday October 23rd. Cost is $15 per child. Register and pay by October 16^thto Tre Sorelle Cioccolato 419-502-2462. This class is for children and teens ages 8 to 15. (Minimum class size:5, maximum class size: 12)

Recipe of the Month

Chocolate Ice Cream Bites

2½ cups good quality ice cream (we recommend Toft's)
7 oz semisweet chocolate
2 Tbls unsalted butter

Line a cookie sheet with plastic wrap.

Using a melon baller, scoop out balls of ice cream and place them on the prepared cookie sheet. Alternatively, cut the ice cream into bite-size cubes. Stick a toothpick or short sucker stick in each piece and return to the freezer until very hard.

Place the chocolate and the butter in a heatbroof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water until melted. Quickly dip the frozen ice-cream balls or cubes into the warm chocolate and return to the freezer. Keep them there until ready to serve.

Serves 6.

Christmas Preview

What fun and exciting things are coming for the Christmas holidays? Well, let us tell you about just a few of them!!

Advent "Calendar" - This is a set of 24 numbered, red boxes decorated for the season. They come with twine and mini clothespins which you use to hang the boxes from the twine. Each box serves 2 people so this is great for families. Choose 6 of your favorite Tre Sorelle goodies such as dipped pretzels, marshmallows, dipped cookies, solid chocolates, non-pareils, peppermint bark, candy canes or cocoa packets. Then we'll repeat your selection 4 times (to get to 24 boxes!). What a fun way to count down to Christmas! $75, please pre-order and allow at least 1 week for fulfillment.

Old Fashioned Santa candy boxes which hold a 1/2 pound of deliciousness! The candy inside is 2 of our 1/4 lb bagged treats - peanut brittle, toffee, non-pareils, chocolate covered espresso beans, bark, etc. You choose your favorites. $12
