Tre Sorelle Cioccolato will again be among the chefs who come together to support Second Harvest through the 4th annual Generous Helpings event. Join us for the cuisine of local chefs, tempting wines, cool ales, great music, unique silent auction or just to help end hunger. Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio serves Erie, Huron, Lorain, and Crawford counties.
This fund raiser benefits a wonderful community organization. The Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio is committed to helping thousands of families in our community at-risk for hunger. Through their network of hunger-relief agencies they are making a difference in these difficult economic times by supplying the most basic of needs - food.

Fall Open House
The fall holiday season is almost on top of us. As our calendar shows, there are several occasions coming up for which you may need a gift. Your favorite guy or gal, your boss, or your favorite goblin come to mind.

As the children head back to school and the days get cooler, we invite you to stop in for a sweet respite from all the craziness.
In our new calendar feature (below), you will see the Open Houses, Children's events and classes as well as Adult classes we have planned for the next few months. We've also listed some holidays that you may not want to miss - Sweetest Day and Boss' Day just to mention a few.

Recipe of the Month
Hot Cocoa Microwave Cake
My friend Linda sent an email with a recipe for making a quick cake in the microwave. It is mixed and baked in a mug and serves one or two (if you really want to share).
I found this variation on the Internet which uses hot cocoa mix and makes the recipe even easier. By varying the flavor of the cocoa, you get different cake flavors. We tried it using Caffe D' Amore Mexican Spiced Cocoa as well as Bellagio Sipping Chocolate both of which are available at our store. The cakes were enjoyed by customers during a recent Sampler Saturday. (see more on those later in the newsletter).
Ingredients
2 packets hot cocoa mix (1.5 oz each)
2 Tablespoons flour
3 Tablespoons vegetable oil
3 Tablespoons water
1 egg
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions1. Spray inside of microwave-safe mug 2. Add hot cocoa mix and flour to mug, mix well with fork. 3. In small bowl, combine oil, water, egg, and vanilla. Stir gently with fork. 4. Pour oil mixture into mug. Stir well with fork. 5. Microwave 3 minutes at full power. Cake may puff up over top of mug depending on size. 6. Let cool for a few minutes. Run a knife around cake to loosen. Invert mug onto plate to release cake. 7. Can be eaten warm or let cool and top with ready-made frosting. |

Decorate Your House
Those gingerbread houses each Christmas are tasty but wouldn't a chocolate house taste even better? Those of us here at Tre Sorelle certainly think so. We have found two amazing designs to help you celebrate the upcoming holidays. Adult classes will be held so that participants can make and decorate their own house. Cost is $25 per person.
Participants may choose to make their "house" from milk, dark or white chocolate. Then they may use a variety of colored chocolate and seasonal candies to finish off the project.
October 22nd from 6:30pm - 8:30 pm participants will make and decorate their own Halloween Haunted Chocolate House. RSVP by Saturday October 17th.
November 19th from 6:30pm - 8:30 pm participants will make and decorate their own Holiday Chocolate House. RSVP by Saturday November 14th. |
Fancy Nancy Soiree
(That's fancy for "party")
Fans of Fancy Nancy get your party clothes ready! On Saturday October 10th children ages 6 - 10 can attend a special Fancy Nancy-themed event.
Betsy from the Sandusky Library will be here to read a Fancy Nancy story while the guests enjoy hot cocoa (it turns pink!), cupcakes and chocolate. There will also be fun surprises and gifts for each guest to take home.
Join us for this fabulous event (that's fancy for "a great time"). Cost is $15 per person. Limit of 24 guests so please RSVP to 419-502-2462 by Tuesday October 6th. |
