Make your Own Peanut Butter Cups January 25th, 2009

Children love peanut butter and chocolate. What could be better than combining them? This class gives children the opportunity to make one of their favorite treats and then take them home to share with family and friends.
For children ages 8 - 14.

Firelands Winery Wine & Chocolate February 7th, 2009
For the 3rd year, Tre Sorelle will be providing the Chocolate for this annual event.
Come and taste outstanding local wines and an Italian-imported Limoncello.
We will introduce several new chocolates based on Fireland's wine products. More details in our February newsletter. |

Chocolate Recipe of the Month Chocolate Scones
From: Coffee Treats by Sharon O'Connor Available at Tre Sorelle Cioccolato 1 egg ½ cup heavy cream or half and half 1 teas vanilla extract 1-2/3 cups all-purpose flour 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/3 cup sugar 2 teas baking powder ¼ teas salt 1/3 cup cold, unsalted butter, cut into bits
Preheat the oven to 400° F.
1. In a medium bowl, beat the egg, cream or half-and-half, and vanilla together until blended; set aside
2. In a large bowl, stir the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until combined. 3. Using your fingers, a pastry blender, or 2 dinner knives, combine the butter with the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs
4. Add the flour mixture to the cream mixture and stir until the dough just comes together; do not overmix
5. Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface and pat into a ½-inch thick round; cut into 8 wedges
6. Transfer the scones to a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes, or until firm on the edges and a little soft in the center.

New and Retired Chocolates
We say hello and goodbye to several chocolates this new year!
Our new treat is called Caribou Crossing and is a decadent combination of peanut butter, caramel and dark chocolate.
In February we will introduce new flavors of wine chocolates at Firelands Winery's Wine and Chocolate event. Look for our February newsletter for details.
Leaving our line are:

- Strawberry Cream Dark Chocolate
- Brandied Cherries both Milk and Dark chocolate
While not available at our counter, fans of these retired chocolates may place a special order with a minimum of 1 week notice. Minimum purchase quantities are required.
