Client Spotlight: Julie, owner of Bu Tong Acupuncture
Julie at Bu Tong Accupuncture

Julie started Bu Tong Acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medical clinic, in 2007 with a goal to make health care and healthy living affordable and accessible. In her Mission District location, she hosts a community clinic 'Happy Hour' where acupuncture treatments begin at $10 per session.

Before opening Bu Tong Acupuncture, Julie worked in traditional Western medicine. "I knew from a young age that I wanted to help people feel better and live better lives...but I wasn't exactly sure how," she said. "The day I had to tell a woman who had a lump in her breast that we were unable to help her unless she had insurance was the day I knew traditional medicine wasn't for me." Lucky for us, Julie found her calling in alternative medicine.
