Make Time to Celebrate
Some people may feel a little busier, stressed, and stretched for patience during the holiday season. Do you feel like you're losing time and focus as we approach year end? The holidays can bring out the best and worst in each of us, depending on how we approach perceived challenges.
In our project management workshops, we teach participants that closing projects is not optional, it's instrumental--in part so that team members can celebrate what they've accomplished together. Executed properly, project closure helps a project manager build loyalty and high-performance teams in the future.
Many of you already make time to recognize team members' contributions in meaningful ways. But do you make the time to celebrate friends, families, or even yourself OR do you spend those moments worrying about what you're not getting done?
Make time this holiday season to celebrate what has been accomplished, so you can move forward with more focus and energy later to accomplish what still needs to be done. You may find yourself and others performing at a higher level and with more enthusiasm. Happy New Year!
