| Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse |
 |
|
Lilly is so excited to show off her new purse
to her friends in class, she can't wait until
show and tell! She plays with the musical
purse while Mr. Slinger is trying to teach, and
he takes it away. Lilly is so mad, she draws
a mean picture of her heretofor favorite
teacher and slips it in his bag. Lilly is
beside herself with grief when she discovers
that Mr. Slinger has not only given back her
purse, but also included some candy and an
encouraging note.
Find out all about the irrepressible Lilly
and her friends Chester and Wilson in PYT's
upcoming production of Kevin Henkes
Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse.
Directed by Elizabeth McClelland,
this Stories on Stage show will delight
audiences of all ages.

On January 31, more than 150 guests enjoyed
delicious tastings from Park Place
Restaurant at the Cypress Hotel, Bebecakes
Cupcakery, the British Bankers Club,
Esther's German Bakery and Whole Foods
Market. They were also entertained by
fabulous PYT youth who performed "The
Candyman" from Willy Wonka, "Green
Eggs and Ham" from Seussical, "A
Little Bit O' Spring" from Narnia and
"Footloose" from Footloose.
Guests had the opportunity to bid on
beautiful tablescapes from Tiffany and
Company, Brick Monkey, Katherine
Phelps of Vkoos Design, Kathy Goodman of Well
Rehearsed and Bloomingdale's/
Stanford. We also held an
exciting"fund-a-need" for show sponsorships and a
silent auction. PYT raised approximately
$20,000 from this event, and we would like to
thank all our guests and volunteers who
made it such a success.
PYT also would like to give a big thank-you
to event sponsors Gentry Magazine, the
Cypress Hotel and SkinSpirit, who
provided wonderful gifts for our guests at the
end of the fun-filled evening. Special
recognition also goes to our amazing event
chair, Jodi Murphy, without whom this
annual fundraiser would not have been possible!
