2011 Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ Calendar
|
May features the St. Louis Community College Wildwood Campus, the first community college in the Midwest to receive the United States Green Building Council's LEED Gold certification. Located very close to Babler State Park in Missouri, there is certainly no shortage of wildlife around the park, yet Killdeer birds have chosen this 2,000 sf greenroof (2007) as a safe place to start their new family. Planted with a variety of Sedums, the Green Roof Blocks modular system plants provide comfortable nesting, and heat rising from the building keeps the nest nice and cozy.
The Greenroofs & Walls of the World™ series combines two of our most popular destinations on Greenroofs.com: The Greenroof & Greenwall Projects Database and Upcoming Events.
