February features the "Sacred Heart Medical Center At River Bend", a custom intensive greenroof in Springfield, Oregon. The 1.2 million sf hospital, built on a sprawling 180-acre greenfield site near the McKenzie River, looks like a 5-star resort nestled within the Willamette Valley. Home to 386 private patient rooms, the holistic concept integrated in the campus plan includes eight rooftop gardens for the enjoyment of patients and visitors. Using a TM-45MD Express Blower™ truck, 230 tons of aggregate, 120 cubic yards of mulch, and over 700 cubic yards of rooftop mix was placed in 14 days.

March features the "Diamond Beach Condominiums", a semi-intensive greenroof in Long Branch, New Jersey installed by Roofscapes. The lush, un-irrigated 6.5" Type III Roofmeadow® Savannah on the 6th and 7th floors of this Jersey shore condo complex provides peaceful enjoyment for all residents and private gardens for penthouse residents. The roof meadow gardens offer views of the surrounding landscape and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The planting plan features drought-tolerant grasses and a wide variety of flowering perennials in tufts and drifts mixed with Sedum groundcover, accented with a herring-bone brick pavement.
