surpassed 700 case studies, and need you to
help us update the profiles we do have with new
information and photos as well as send in projects
not yet listed. It's
easy and a free international community resource -
when you submit projects, attach your logo and we'll
include it at the top.

The World 12-Month
Wall Calendar! Stay up to date with international
green building events in our 11" x 18" full-color glossy
Calendar featuring beautiful living roofs from around
the world, each with a link to its profile in The
Greenroof Projects Database.
June features the "Ford Motor Company's River Rouge
Plant" in Dearborn, MI. The former industrial
brownfield was transformed into a sustainable
manufacturing facility which held the title of The
World's Largest Green Roof for a few years with a
whopping 454,000 sf Xero Flor living roof!
May featured the "Earth Ways Green Roof Pavilion" in St.
Louis, MO. The Green Roof Pavilion at the Earth Ways
Home is a collaboration of area businesses and the
Missouri Botanical Garden to increase public
awareness of the green roofing concept and to share
the many benefits of green roofing. The 12 ' x 14 '
pavilion was constructed to closely resemble a
historic structure at the facility and consists of 42
Green Roof Blocks.

ASLA: The American Society of Landscape
Architects
announces The Roof is Growing!, an educational
resource for middle-school students and teachers
about green roofs and their environmental benefits.
The resource includes a lesson plan, workbook, and
online interactive program. [05.14.08]
The
Water Environment Research Foundation:
WERF
is requesting research proposals to provide
education, outreach, and training on decentralized
stormwater management techniques, including
greenroofs, and will provide $112,000 for

Landscape architect Steven Cantor explores sixty
projects in detail in his about to be
released "Green
Roofs in Sustainable Landscape Design." Read
the

Green Roofs for Healthy Cities released their book "Award Winning Green
Roofs" [4.11.08] at the Greening Rooftops for
Sustainable Communities Conference last month.

Government of Canada Invests
More than $500,000 Into B.C.'s Green Building
Sector
Canada News Centre reports on how research being
conducted by the British Columbia Institute of
Technology has received federal funding of $500,000
and a $25,000 research grant. [05.26.08]

Environmental Defense Fund
Recognizes Fireman's Fund's Green Efforts
Fireman's Fund Insurance Co. is one of five firms
recognized by the Environmental Defense Fund and
Calif. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger for having
contributed to the "green" movement. Vegetated roofs
are included coverages that fill the gaps in traditional
