Life goes on for many of us. Our power is back, we've picked up the fallen branches, and cleaned out the refrigerator. But for many of our Friends and Neighbors, Recovery from Hurricane Irene is not that easy.  Help is needed in so many ways and in so many places. I've seen over and over again in Facebook the question 'How can I help?'   I've tried to gather answers to that question and I'm publishing them below. The list is not complete; and some of the information may need some clarification. But don't let that stop you from taking action.  We can be a blessing in the lives of others.  Do Good.

"Let me do all the good I can, to all the people I can, as often as I can, for I shall not pass this way again."
~ John Wesley

"Everybody can be great, because anybody can serve, you don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You don't have to know about Plato and Aristotle to serve. You don't have to know Einstein's theory of relativity to serve. You don't have to know the second law of thermodynamics in physics to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love. "
Martin Luther King

If you can, help others; if you cannot do that, at least do not harm them. *

Dalai Lama

*Beach 104 was a great example of this last Sunday. Most OBX people were calling in asking questions and giving updates. A very few ranted on about why someone wasn't taking care of their problem.  Beach 104's response was Dalai Lamaish.  If you can offer or ask for help, do it. If you cannot, do not throw rocks at people who are working hard in a messy natural disaster.  Thank you guys.

Nancy
