The lives of many members of our League are stretched.  The economic situation has required some members to work more hours or take on additional work.  The need for volunteers in social services and community outreach organizations is very high.  Members have responded to that need. We also have members who are going through personal or health difficulties.  I'm am not complaining.  I am proud to know you - and admire the strength and courage you bring to meeting the challenges of today.  I  keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

A personal conflict as required a last minute change of the League's Janaury Meeting.    Peggy Birkemeier of the Currituck-Dare Community Foundation has invited members of the League to join them for an informational reception on Women's Giving Circles.  Women Circles typically promote children and women's issues.

The reception will be held at Keefers Bar and Grill on Thursday, January 14th at 5:30. If you would like you can also order dinner from a special selections menu.
