Schizophrenia might feel like this
One of the tools that will be used during the Advocacy Day is MINDSTORM, a 3D experience, offering people the
chance to understand what it may feel and sound like to experience
symptoms of schizophrenia. A online version is available. This experience simulates a severe episode of auditory and
visual hallucinations and may be disturbing to some people. Click here to view Mindstorm online. |
Budget Cuts to mental health, developmental disability. The Mental Health
Association in NC is hosting an Advocacy and Education Day at the Legislative
Building in Court 1300 on Wednesday, June 10 from 9AM till
3PM. The Health and Human Services Appropriations
Sub-Committee recently released their budget recommendations which will devastate supports for people with developmental disabilities,
addictive diseases and mental illness. This is not a
sustainable cut: services will stop, providers will go out of
business, and jobs will be lost. Take action by calling or emailing your own Legislator and
House majority and minority leadership. listing of House members
