"Good Luck" to Mr. Chris!!! We will miss you!
As most of you know, Mr Chris Koehl, who has been our Hip Hop teacher for the past two years, made it to the Top 16 Dancers on the Fox hit TV show "So You Think You Can Dance!" Although he will be back every once in awhile to teach Master Classes, Mr. Chris has returned to Los Angeles to film the finale show of SYTYCD, and then live "the LA scene" for a while. With all the connections Chris has made thru the show, it's only natural that he would pursue this opportunity, but he will be SORELY MISSED! |

Jessica Fischer performs in a Contemporary routine in DDC's 23rd Annual Recital Showcase, "Color My World" June 11, 2011 |
Mr. Bruce Davis took tons of photos at the Recital and the dress rehearsals!! He's been taking our professional photos since the studio began in 1988! The large photos you see hanging around the studio and most of the concert photos were taken by Mr. Davis. We're so lucky that he continues to give DDC the time and attention to our dancers! I so value the documentation of the progress of our dancers and our business through photos that he as done through the years!!!
In order to place an order, please go to www.davis-studio.net and follow any of the links that say "Denton Dance Conservatory," scroll down to "Recital 2011" and when prompted enter "lisa" as the username and password. The photos appear in the order they were taken, and although it takes time to look through them, it's completely worth it!!

Congrats & Farewell to Miss Rachel!!!
Well, our little Rachel is all grown up! She's got a full-time position teaching dance at Arlington Heights High School in Ft. Worth! Miss Rachel was a 10 year student at DDC before attending TCU and graduating with a BFA in Modern Dance. She has taught ballet, jazz, tap, & contemporary at DDC for 9 years. In this competitive work force, we congratulate her on her success! While this means she won't have time to teach at DDC, I'm sure she'll come visit! Best of luck, Miss Rachel!

DDC Dancers Tour Austria!
 | | Denton City Contemporary Ballet in Salzburg under the Residenzbrunnen Fountain in July! |
The beauty of Austria was absolutely overwhelming!!! 22 dancers from DDC who are members of the Denton City Contemporary Ballet performed all over Austria in late June and early July! Those of us who went (36 in all) have 1000s of photos, some of which I will be putting into slideshow to display on both DDC's website & DCCB's website. Maybe also on Facebook!
 | | DCCB dancers with Thom Clower during the last class in St. Johann |
We all had a magnificent time, and our dancers performed brilliantly! We got compliments on techinique, performance quality, costumes, choreography, AND what beautiful young ladies come from Texas! It was a trip of a lifetime, and we will all be talking about it for years to come!
ATTENTION DCCB members & Austria Attendees!
Don't forget our Pizza Party/Photo Exchange at DDC on Tue 8/9 at 6:30pm! See you there! |

Updates on Fees & Policies
Good news!!! We did not raise tuition and most fees! What we do have to do is the following: Please add a
- $3 surcharge to credit card and PayPal payments over $50
- The family production fee for "A Gift for Emma" will be $40 for the 1st dancer, and then $20 for each add'l dancer
- We added the 5, 6 & 7 classes/wk option for levels I thru V for tuition (see pdf)
- We've moved the DEADLINE for costume fees up to Nov. 30th for single student families and to Dec. 31st for multiple student families. (All costume fees will be charged in Sept and bills will be sent so you know how much is due) YOU MAY STILL PAY MONTHLY TOWARD YOUR COSTUME FEES, but we have no payment form to fill out and the due dates are earlier. (Hopefully, this will help DDC to avoid having to pay extra shipping costs for late orders due to late payments.)
- Ticket prices for "A Gift for Emma" may increase depending on the performance venue.
Please understand that DDC is trying very hard to keep costs down for all of us! Below is a link to the pdf of our Tuition & Fees flyer that includes all tuition, costume, & production fees. We continue to value your support & trust in our business!

MTV FILMS SHOW AT DDC STUDIOS!
Hopefully you got to see the show a couple of weeks ago! It was all about a Guyer High School athlete that wanted to become a ballerina! Tarayn is a Guyer High School basketball & volleyball player, who wanted to become a ballerina. She filled out an application and wrote in to the show, and MTV chose her to make an episode around! A camera-man followed her everywhere, the studio, the school, home and other studios during the occasional times we weren't able to host the film crew.
Click here to DDC on MTV's "MADE!"
The show was all about the hard work it takes to make dreams come true! MTV filmed many times in the studio, sometimes on weekends, sometimes late at night and once in a while during class. The outside of our studio was shown many times and it was really exciting to see Denton make the national TV shows!! We were sworn to secrecy so not too much was said at the time. Anyway- the show turned out great, we got some exposure on national television, and made some fabulous new friends in the process! |
