ATTENTION DCCB AUSTRIA ATTENDEES!
Young Tanzsommer and the Kempinski in Munich is asking me for passport #s ASAP. PLEASE FORWARD ME YOUR PASSPORT # AND DATE OF BIRTH ASAP!!! (I know I already have DOB, but there may be typos in my dance mgmt software:)
I would also appreciate it you would forward to me your itinerary for your flights. (If you're flying with the group, you don't need to do this--I already have your itinerary)
I have reserved our rooms at the Kempinski for June 23, 2011. We will all be in triple rooms for apprx $100/person. I will also be reserving rooms for those of us that have to stay over the night of July 4th, 2011. (That is the"group" plus Tracy/Emily Jones, & Lindsey Johnson.) WE WILL PROBABLY STAY IN THE NOVATEL ACROSS THE STREET, due to the fact that the Kempinski wanted more $ for that evening. Please plan on $100/person for that hotel too.

 Thom Clower Winter Ballet Intensive!Feb. 7-11, 2011
Mr. Thom Clower returns to DDC for the 9th year to teach Intermediate & Advanced level ballet classes to our Level V thru VII dancers.

RECITAL COSTUMES ARE BEING ORDERED THIS WEEK!
Recital costumes for our Spring Recital Showcase, "Color My World," are being ordered this week and next week. Most of our dancers' measurements were taken in class during November and December, but we have missed a few. You might get a call from our office with a request to measurement your dancer at home. Once the costumes are picked out, we will post pictures of them in the studio for all to see!
If you have not paid for the recital costumes in full, (Dec. 31st was the deadline), you will be getting a bill from us shortly. If you have more than one child at DDC, your costume fees are due in Feb. ANYONE WHO HAS NOT PAID AT LEAST 1/2 THE COSTUME FEES BY JAN. 31ST, COSTUMES WILL BE CANCELLED. LATE ORDERS WILL NOT ARRIVE IN TIME FOR OUR APPEARANCE AT THE DENTON ARTS AND JAZZ FESTIVAL IN APRIL OR OUR RECITAL PHOTOS IN MAY!!!

You may have noticed that I've discovered FACEBOOK!!! It's taken me years to join what seems to be everyone's life line to each other! I've set up Fan pages for both Denton Dance Conservatory and Denton City Contemporary Ballet and I would love to have everyone take a look!!!

This month, DDC unveils our new ADULT DANCE FITNESS PROGRAM, designed to help you along with those New Year's Resolutions! WE ARE ALSO HAVING A NUTRITION FOR DANCE ATHLETES Workshop on January 22 from 12-1pm. At only $10/dance family, this information is so very important for young ladies! (see article below) And finally, we welcome Mr. Thom Clower back for his 9th year teaching our Winter Ballet Intensive the second week of February! Thom was the founder/Artistic Director of Ballet Dallas, former AD of Hubbard Street Dance Theatre, and is currently on staff with Allegro Ballet of Houston, Young Tanzsommer Dance Festival, and the Glenda Brown Choreography Conference, not to mention countless other acalades! Our DDC dancers levels 5 thru 7 are invited to take advantage of this rare opportunity to study with one of the best and definitely the most enthusiastic! (see article on left side of this newsletter) As the new year progresses, current events remind me how important dance classes are to all involved! The consistancy, continuity, community, and movement remind us all to be thankful for the artform and the people who love it! Thanks to all of you for providing me with the structure and security that DDC gives me! You all are truly my extended family!

 DDC Unveils our new ADULT DANCE FITNESS PROGRAM! "A new year--a new you!"
Sound familiar? Being a dance instructor, I am a firm believer in taking care of yourself and your body. DDC is committed to offering Adults and Teenagers the classes they need to increase aerobic wellness as well as increasing core strength, flexibility and an overall sense of well-being.
We also realize that adults need flexibility in class scheduling. That is why we are offering a 10 CLASS PUNCH CARD for the following classes:
ZUMBA, Tue 8:15-9:15pm and Wed 7:00-8:00pm PILATES, Beg/Int Level Sat. 10:30-11:30am Int/Adv Level Sat. 9:30-10:30am 10 classes/$75 Also included in our Adult Dance Fitness Program, is our Non-Performance Int/Adv Ballet Class. This class is offered on Wed. from 5:30-7pm and Fri. from 6:30-8pm. Anyone who is taking at least 2 additional classes, may also use the punch card for the Non-Performance Ballet class. (We are in the process of trying to start an ADULT BEG. BALLET class. If you're interested, please email Lisa at LisaDDC4me@aol.com )
DDC SPECIAL! ATTENTION LEVEL VI & VII DANCERS: Any current DDC students who are already enrolled for 5 or more classes, may take the Zumba or Pilates at a mere $20 more per month! If you choose to take both Zumba & Pilates in addition to your 5+ classes, it will be $35 more per month.

NUTRITION FOR DANCE ATHLETES WORKSHOP Jan. 22nd, 12-1pm ($10/FAMILY)

ALL DANCERS, AGES 11+ are invited to take advantage of this nutrition for dancers class! Once dancers reach the age of 11 years old, they are well on their way to a training regiment that parallels that of Olympic athletes. It is imperative that these young ladies learn how to eat healthy in order to give them the edge that they deserve having worked so hard! Julie Dubois is a registrered dietitian and nutritionist, AND a former professional ballet dancer! SHE HAS ASKED THAT A PARENT COME WITH EACH DANCER.

Our resident photographer, Mr. Bruce Davis, is running a special BUY ONE, GET ONE FREE promotion on the on-stage recital photos from last year! Purchase one 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, etc. at regular price, and receive a photo of the same pose, equal size or smaller ABSOLUTELY FREE!
Mr. Davis has taken all of the action photos you've seen over the years that hang on the studio walls at DDC. During last year's recital, he was able to shoot in low light, backstage, and capture some of the most precious expressions!!! Mr. Davis has organized the photos "by dance," meaning if you remember the name of your dance, you can find those photos right away. You will need to know which program your dancer appeared in, the 3:30 (Program I) or the 5:30 (Program 2).
