Greetings!
We at Denton Dance Conservatory hope that you and yours have a wonderful holiday and a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!! We thank all of our dancers and their families for their continued support, talent, and fabulous dancing, and we all look forward to a rewarding spring semester!!!

| Most of our dancers were involved with "A Gift for Emma" this past weekend, and "WOW!" What a great job they all did!!
Three standing ovations and four great shows! Our guest artists were great and the Lyric Theatre is fabulous! The dancers had worked very hard and audience appreciation abounded. The videos for the show are being edited and should be available for those who purchased them by mid-January! | |

Your Instructor: Miss Hannah Briggs
currently a freshman and a dance major at Texas Woman's University, Hannah graduated in June from Ryan High School, where she was a Strutter for three years and a dance officer for two (Junior Lieutenant then Lieutenant Captain).
She was a three-year member of the Strutters' two select groups, Highsteppers, which is chosen for high kick technique, and Jazz Elite, which is chosen based on dance technique.
As a team, they won several awards with the Strutters including the Home Routine Award, Sweepstakes Award, Staff Award, and Most Admired Team Award from the Showtime Intnl. line camp. They also won awards at Showtime International Dance and Drill Team competitions including Best Military, Best Officer Modern, and Best Small Ensemble.
Individually, Hannah was a three time recipient of the All-Star Dancer Award, and a two time Kick Club and Miss Showtime nominee. Outside of drill team, she has been dancing for 15 years (twelve of those years being with Denton Dance Conservatory), and studies ballet, tap, jazz, and modern.

DCCB COMMUNITY MASTER WORKSHOP SET Thom Clower Winter Ballet Workshop
March 2 thru March 6, 2009

This is your chance to study with one of the most dynamic Master Instructors in the business! Mr. Clower served as Founding Artistic Director of Ballet Dallas, is a representative of the George Skibine Trust, awarded the prestigious Legacy Award for Achievement in the Arts by the Dallas Dance Council in 2000; in addition, he hs served as Ballet Master for Hubbard Street Dance Theatre, Chicago, and artistic Director of Yuma Ballet Theater & travels the world teaching and choreographing.
Time: Daily- Intermediate Ballet 5:30-7:00 PM
Daily- Advanced Ballet 7:15- 8:45 PM
Fees: College students with ID, Dance Council Members, DYCB or DCCB -
a 3 class minimum $75 or Full Session for $100
All others: $125 for one session or $200 for both

Now is the time for you to set some goals for yourself in dance! N ew Year's Resolutions! For instance if you can't do the splits yet, that could be your goal, How about adding to your pirrouettes by strengthening your balance, making to class on time, increase your knowledge of dance history by working it into your school reports, etc., | |
