What are Teachers Saying About the Currier?

Pauline Pichette, Visual Art Teacher, 26 years, Matthew Thornton School, Londonderry, NH

Pauline Pichette

"When I was a little girl, my uncle brought me to the Currier. I was so excited. It was as if a door had opened to reveal a new awareness to the arts and its possibilities. Today, as an art educator, I have seen much the same reaction from my 4th grade students when they tour the Museum. For the last 14 years every one of my 4th grade students has visited the Currier - for many of them, it was their first time visiting an art museum. I am never disappointed with what the Museum has to offer, and we are always able to make connections back to what I'm teaching at school.  Make a visit, take a tour, and attend an educator workshop. The Currier Museum of Art is a place where educators can get rejuvenated, refreshed and excited, and then return to the classroom with brand new ideas and possibilities."

Christa Zuber

Christa joined the Public Programs Department at the Currier last spring.  With a Master of Teaching in Art and Drama, Christa brings years of experience in school and museum education.  While her main role is to schedule group tours to the Museum and the museum's Frank Lloyd Wright Zimmerman House, she is also currently developing new educator resources to enrich students' experiences with the Currier - both in the galleries and in the classroom!

Send in Your Stories

Have you brought your students to the museum and have a story about the impact the visit had on your students and/or your lessons?

Please send your stories to [email protected]. They will be very helpful as we continue to seek funding for our programs and may also be used at a national level to help the museum field advocate for the value of cultural institutions.
