Welcome

Greetings!

Fall is always a time of transition for me. No matter how old we are it's "back to school" time. In our later years, we use it as a time to learn something new or to take care of something we've been putting off.

Recently, I read a book about transition written by a colleague's wife. Groping Toward Whatever or How I Learned to Retire [sort of] was a book filled with so many stories and emotions that we can all relate to, at whatever life stage. Susan Trausch tries to find an answer to "What do you DO?" in a time of transition in her life. Her writing style is warm, funny and at times emotionally raw. This tale of transition, a journey from job to somewhere else, is a wonderful read.

So what have you been putting off that you need to take care of this fall? If we can be of assistance, reach out.

Happy fall!

Cheers,

The 'MERS' Landing

I had the chance to catch up with my friend Anne Antonellis, president of Duxbury Mortgage Services, at the Duxbury Rural & Historical Society's Wicked Wicket Croquet event. While most players were demonstrating their formal "TaTa" (normal greeting before a game takes place), I was asking Anne lots of questions about MERS (Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems) for this article.

Since the mortgage meltdown, MERS has been the center of attention in relation to the foreclosure problems, especially foreclosure fraud, in the residential real estate market.
