The official kick-off to summer is just around the corner. Have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

Before you focus on BBQs and beaches, take a few moments to make sure your personal finances are in order.
  • Do you still have your retirement money in a former employers 401(k) plan? Time to roll it over into an IRA where you have control.
  • Do you have an estate plan in place? If not, set up an appointment with an attorney to take care of this very important document. If so, is it up-to-date? Who is your health care proxy? Who is the guardian of your children? Is this person still active in your life?
  • Do you have a variable rate mortgage? It might be time to get a fixed rate while rates are at historic lows.
