Greetings!

Empowering CongregationsPresented by the Episcopal Church Foundation
Date: Sat. Nov. 20, 2010Time: 11:30 am - 2:30 pmLocation: Bishop Jones CenterCost: $10 for lunchThe Stewardship Department will host two professionals from the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF) for a three-hour mini-conference Saturday November 20, 2010 from 11:30 am - 2:30 pm in the Mission Room of Chapel House at the Bishop Jones Center.Whether or not your congregation is currently considering a capital campaign, this is a perfect opportunity to learn the basics and see the organizational similarities to annual giving campaigns. ECF has helped Episcopal congregations, dioceses, and other communities of faith around the country raise millions of dollars for property, program, endowment, debt retirement, and outreach. The Discern-Study-Ask methodology has a proven track record of success. And ultimately, successful campaigns instill, foster and reinforce a culture of philanthropy in which the concepts of giving, asking, sharing and gratitude permeate the life of an institution.Planned gifts, gifts made through bequests in wills or through life-income gifts, hold enormous potential for Episcopal communities of faith. Establishing and maintaining an active planned giving program is a vital ministry that offers church members the opportunity to make a final testament about the importance of their Christian faith, and can help ensure resources will be available in the future to do the important work of the Church. Each congregation with attendees will receive a complimentary copy ($35 value) of Funding Future Ministry: A Guide to Planned Giving produced by the Episcopal Church Foundation. This newly revised, updated, and comprehensive manual ensures that clergy and lay leaders know the most effective ways to encourage legacy gifts, all set in a theological framework.FULL INFORMATION, click here.
