Come to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play on Tuesday beginning at 7p and Saturday at 7p and the first Friday of every month at 7p. Admission $4. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

GREAT ACTIVITIES TO DO ANYTIME
Barns and other structures throughout Alleghany County are adorned with normal squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany countryside are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.

 Music and Cars Weekend, begins on Friday with the 18th Annual Alleghany County Fiddler's Convention. Opening entertainment starts at 5p with competition beginning at 6p. Saturday, the convention starts at 10a with a dance competition at 5:30p. The championship playoffs will be at 7:30p on Saturday night. If you are planning on attending the convention don't miss the championship playoffs where the top 15 senior old time bands and top 15 senior bluegrass bands will perform. Admission is $6 on Friday, $7 on Saturday or $10 for both days. Children under 12 are Free with a paying adult. For more information visit the Fiddler's Convention website or call 336-372-4957. Car enthusiasts will enjoy the VFW Annual Car Show on Saturday, July 21 beginning at 7:30a. Located in the NAPCO parking lot, Trojan Avenue, classic cars, trucks and motorcycles will be competeing for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as the People's Choice Award. Kasey Kahne #5 race car will be on display and a Hendrick Motorsports cabinet will be raffled. There will be a drawing for door prizes, dancing, music and hot dogs. General admission is $5.  Seazuns Pleazuns perform at Silver Dollar Music Park, Saturday, beginning with an All You Can Eat buffet at 6:30p. The live band and dancing starts at 8p. Family Fun Day, Sunday, July 22
