Empty Bowls 2012
The 3rd annual Empty Bowls fundraiser is slated for Monday, May 21, 11a-2p, at River Rock Grill and Sparta Family Fun Center. Tickets are a $25 donation are still available at Touch of Grace, Murphy's Mercantile and River Rock Grill. Each ticket includes a lunch and a hand crafted pottery bowl by local artisans. Big Daddy Love Concert
Come enjoy a great meal and dance to the music of some well known locals in support of Alleghany Partnership for Children. The show begins at 7p at Silver Dollar Music Park with a JAM performance followed by the boys of Big Daddy Love at 8p.

Alleghany Farmers Market Now Open
Last Saturday marked opening day for the Farmers Market as well as the first day at the new location in Crouse Park. The market will be open every Saturday 8a-1p. Contact Cynthia at 336-372-5597 for more information.

Take a Trip...
Down the New River on a guided canoe ride on Sunday, May 20 at 1p. This 2 hour trip begins at the Wagoner Access of the New River State Park and Park Rangers will teach some basic canoeing along the way. Rangers will also interpret any of the sights throughout the trip. There is a limited number of seats left so to reserve your spot, call 336-982-2587.
