Themed Summer Youth Dance Camps 



Princess Camp   

July 24th 10-11:30am

Ages 4-7

 

Pop Star Camp 

Aug 2nd 10-11:30am

Ages 5-8

 

Variety Dance Camp  

 Aug 15th 10-11:30am

Ages 5-9

Keep current on Tap, Jazz, and Hip hop! This camp is similar to our ACE Program!

 

 

 

All camps will include a themed craft and a snack. The dancers will perform for their parents for the last 10 minutes of class!.

Each Themed Camp is $22 per dancer.

Registration begins May 8th. Register before June 10th and pay only $18! Minimum of 5 dancers to hold the camp.

at Auburn Gymnastics

Every Friday from 7:30-9:30pm $15 Payable to AGC upon arrival. Auburn Gymnastic coaches are available to help with tumbling skills your dancer is working on. This is a great way to give your dancer extra practice.

Outdoor Playground Boot Camp Relay

Aug 14th 11am-12:15pm
We will meet at Sunset Park in Lakeland and the conditioning boot camp will begin! Bring your tennis shoes and workout clothes.  Level 3 and up.

The Spring Show "Dream" is  fast approaching! This email is full of friendly reminders. Please do not hesitate to ask questions!

 

There is one important change I want everyone to know. In the December newsletter June show dress rehearsal was inadvertently scheduled for Sunday, June 17th. June 17th is Fathers' Day. After much consideration we have chosen to change dress rehearsal to Sunday June 10th. We hope this change does not inconvenience you. If this change does cause scheduling problems for you, we are truly sorry. We just want to make sure everyone has the opportunity to spend some special time with their dad on Fathers' day.

Extra Rehearsals

 

During the week of June 18th  regular classes will not be held on Monday, June 19th or Wednesday, June 20th. Additional rehearsals may be called for either of these two days. We anticipate Monday classes may have extra rehearsals on one of these two day because we were off for Memorial Day Weekend. Check the white board at the SDC rehearsal on June 16th to see if your class is scheduled for an extra rehearsal. Check your email and the SDC website too! 

 

Lead Role Rehearsals in June

 

Not all leads and chorus dancers will need to be presents for all the rehearsals below. A more detailed schedule will be distributed as June approaches.

  • June 2nd 7:00am-9:00am and 11:30am-2pm
  • June 9th  7:00am-9:00am and 2:00-3:30pm
  • June 16th 7:00am-9:00am

 

 

Dress Rehearsal at Sumner PAC Sunday June 10th

  • Annie Cast and Vocalist #1- check in at 12:45pm pick up at 2:15pm
  • Shirley Temple Cast- Check in at 2:00pm pick up 2:45pm 
  • Step Up and Vocalist #2- Check in at 2:30pm pick up 3:30pm
  • Tangled and Vocalist #3- Check in at 3:15pm-pick up 4:15:pm
  • June Finale- Check in at 4:30pm, pick up at 5:00pm

Parent Volunteers

 

Be backstage where the action is! We still need a few more volunteers for the show. Parent volunteers will need to be backstage for dress rehearsal and the both shows.

 

We would like two parent volunteers for each class level pre-3.

We would like 1 volunteer for each level 4 class. 

We would like 3 room volunteers for level 5-6.

We would like 2 male volunteers for the boys dressing room.

We would like 4 Volunteer ushers.

 

For the June Show parent volunteers will receive 1 free DVD of the show of their choice!

 

As always your support is very much appreciated!

Dress Rehearsal and Show Guidelines for "Dream"

Dress Rehearsal

  • Dress/tech rehearsal is a closed rehearsal to viewers except for staff and parent volunteers.
  • Although there are several bathrooms backstage, please be sure your younger children use the restroom before check in for dress rehearsal and the show
  • Dancers should check at dress rehearsal at their specified time.
  • Only parent volunteers with backstage passes will be allowed backstage at the show and dress rehearsal. This policy is in place with the safety of your children and the security of the dressing rooms in mind.
  • Please settle your account at SDC before dress rehearsal.

 

Shows

  • No flash photography during the show.
  • Video taping is not allowed for the June show.  
  • There maybe chemical fog, strobe, and/or snow used in the show.
  • Please do not bring any food or drink inside the theater.
  • Dancers in level 3-6 should check in at 6:30pm for the show.
  • Dancers in level pre-2 should check in at 6:45pm for the show.
  • Please label all dancers costumes clearly.
  • At intermission, pre dance children will be dismissed to their parents at the check in table. The pre-dancers do not need a ticket to enter the theater to view the rest of the show as long as they sit on a parents lap.
  • Level 1-6 dancers will participate in the curtain call at the end of the show. These dancers can be picked up at the check in area after the show is complete.
  • You can pick up your child before the end of the show if you need to leave early. Please pick up a Early Release Form from the front desk, complete it, and return it before the show.

Memorabilia!

 

 

 You can order a "Dream" tee shirt, and/or message hearts for the program! Tee shirts will have all the dancers names on the back. You can choose between a long sleeve or short sleeve tee shirt. Pictures and details to come!

Flowers For Your Dancer!

 

 

Give flowers to your dancer at the show! All proceeds benefit the Voltage Team. Bouquets are $6.00 each.

Class Time/ Practicing at Homestall

 

Attending class regularly is more important than ever! Please have your children present for class even as the weather improves and days get longer. You are welcome to video tape your childs routine so that they can practice at home with your help. Private lessons are also available if you would like your child to have extra one on one attention! Speak directly with your childs instructor.
 
Practice Music
Would you like the music to the show to so you child can practice at home? You can buy a CD copy of the show music for $5.00 starting on May1st! Just check with the front desk.

Costumes

 

Nearly all the costumes for "Dream!" have been distributed.

 

Please see the front desk  if the students in your class have received their costume, but you haven't received yours yet. The majority of the Hip hop costumes will be distributed this week and next week.

"Dream" Tickets go on sale 
 May 12th at 4:00pm
  • Online Ticket Sales through Brown paper tickets! No standing in line to get tickets! 
  • Small service fee per ticket, 
  • All tickets are $14.00 and the price does not increase after the first day of ticket sales! There is a small service fee per ticket.
  • 25 ticket limit per purchase.
  • Reserved seating.
  • Children over 5 years old need their own seat. 
Picture Week at SDC is May 19th - May 25th!

Sportrait Photography will be SDC's class photographer. During picture week we will set up one studio room as a photography studio the other room will be used to rehearse in costume. There will be several photo options. There are multiple packages to choose from. Order forms will be available shortly.
