Tatanka Preschool Opening in 2012!
Dear Friends:
Thanks to your generosity throughout the year and on November 16 during Give To The Max day, we'll be opening a preschool classroom at our Tatanka kindergarten through 3rd grade school in January 2012!
Opening a classroom is important to Baby's Space for many reasons. First, it allows us to replicate the successful program we offer children at our Little Earth location to 3 and 4 year old children and their families who live in the Como neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis. Second, the preschool is a terrific recruiting opportunity for Tatanka Academy. The children who benefit from our preschool program may transition smoothly into the kindergarten through third grade school.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Together, we've just created a terrific new preschool program!

Heroes Coughlan Companies
Coughlan Companies is a Minnesota-based company with companies that include Capstone, a children's book publisher and Mankato Kasota Stone, Inc., a stone quarry providing stone for architects and landscaping. Coughlan recently gave Baby's Space a grant to support our family nights, a book donation and tuition assistance for one student.

The Family Nights are a special part of the Coughlan grant. The evenings are themed around a children's book and feature Baby's Space staff performing a skit based on the book. The donated books from Coughlan allow each family to take a book home. Coughlan employees volunteer each month for the infant and toddler family nights. "Baby's Space is an amazing environment to volunteer in and I feel very lucky to be a part of the school," said Liz Gregoire, key account manager. "It's inspirational to see what Terrie and Debbie do on a day-to-day basis with the students and their families."

Terrie Roses Visits White House and Attends Washington Forum
Baby's Space founder and president Terrie Rose received an exclusive invitation to the November 17th Washington Forum meeting. The event is a meeting of more than 160 social innovators, business leaders, philanthropists, and policy makers that explore how to solve the nation's social problems in today's economically and politically challenging context.
Terrie also visited the White House for a briefing with officials about federal programs and how innovators can use the programs. The White House visit also included discussions with members of the Department of Health and Human Services. |
