In Andy Griffith's Shadow
Peter and Ben Holland admire Andy and Opie

As we're sure all of you know, we lost one of the Greatest American Performing Artists of All Time last week- Andy Griffith.

For the past 7 years we've had the honor of performing, directing, and teaching at the Andy Griffith Playhouse in Mount Airy, NC.

Our Living Storybook Series in Mount Airy is supported in part  by the Cindi and Andy Griffith Endowment.

Our Living Storybook Series of Classic Plays for Family Audiences continues this Tuesday night at the Lower Level of the Andy Griffith Museum at 7:00pm. We'll be performing a faithful adaptation of Mark Twain's classic novel, Tom Sawyer.

Twain's Hannibal, Missouri is not far removed from Andy's Mayberry.

Brought to you by our friends at the Surry Arts Council, the performance of Tom Sawyer is free to the public.  It features the talents of Mason Via, Maya Burgess, and Trevor Britt.

Hope to see you there!

Although we never met Andy Griffith, we do feel a kinship with him.
He celebrated Rural America and the Common Man.
He valued family, friends, music, and great stories.

Andy cast a big shadow.
We are proud that we have worked in that shadow and tried to advance his ideals.

Thank you, Andy!

"The Hollands have been involved with The Surry Arts Council this past year and weekly during the summer months.

They have worked with special needs children and adults, drama groups, seniors, and families.

Their talents range from theatre and drama to crafts and music.

They participated in our annual summer weekly arts camps pm a daily basis as well.

They are absolutely wonderful with all of these groups and we look forward to having them back again in 2012 for these activities and more!

They are an incredibly talented duo - and real crowd pleasers.

Their ability to involve audiences of all ages is unmatched."
