  STICKS & STONES-
NEW ANTI-BULLYING SHOW IS A HIT!

"Betty Barsky threatens to punch William Winky in the nose!"

Thank you to St. Paul School in Cana, VA for hosting our first performance of
Sticks and Stones!

Students and teachers were a great audience and told us they thoroughly enjoyed the show.

"Sticks and Stones is an excellent bully awareness program that deals with actual incidents that students can relate to. The three rules of what to do when confronted by bullying (stand tall, don't fall, tell all) are right on target, providing students with specific guidelines to follow."

STICKS AND STONES

By Stacey Maxwell

 Starring Peter and Christina Holland

DESCRIPTION:

The first day at a new school is difficult for any kid. But when second grader, William Winkey meets school bully, Betty Barsky at the bus stop before the first day of school at Tapwater Springs Elementary School, William's anxiety level rises sky high. First she makes fun of his name. Then she makes fun of his lunch- his favorite- an egg salad sandwich. The next day she makes fun of his clothes. Eventually, Betty threatens to punch William in the nose! What should William do to protect himself and change Betty's bad, bullying behavior? Fortunately, William has a smart mom who teaches him how to deal with bullies. William and the audience learn the three rules of dealing with bullies: Stand tall, Don't fall, Tell all!

"The Hollands have been involved with The Surry Arts Council this past year and weekly during the summer months.

They have worked with special needs children and adults, drama groups, seniors, and families.

Their talents range from theatre and drama to crafts and music.

They participated in our annual summer weekly arts camps pm a daily basis as well.

They are absolutely wonderful with all of these groups and we look forward to having them back again in 2012 for these activities and more!
