Thriller Dance, Volunteer Night, & Art Contest
Keeping up with Dance Out Diabetes
Greetings!

There are so many upcoming opportunities to get involved with DOD. We hope you will join in our activities.
Expressive Diabetes Art Contest:

There's still time to submit your entry!

Calling all participants, volunteers and donors! You are invited to join in a design contest. You don't have to be Van Gogh or Monet; we're looking for doodlers and non-artists to try their hand at a design to be placed on a fitness bag for the 11/10/12 dance-a-thon.

The winner will receive $100, (10) fitness bags to give out to family/friends, and acknowledgment on all media used in conjunction with the design.

Deadline: Designs must be received by 5 PM Pacific Standard Time Oct. 10, 2012.

For more information on how to enter, download the Expressive Diabetes Art Contest instructions.

This design contest was made possible by the sponsorship of Santarus, Inc.

Thriller Dance this Saturday,
10/13/12, 1-3 pm!
(Download flyer and share with others here.)

Join Dance Out Diabetes in learning the moves to Michael Jackson's hit music video dance, Thriller. This spooky 1980s dance is still a popular and well-known video that crosses boundaries of language, culture, and geography. Instructor Caroline Howe has been teaching for Thrill the World, an annual simultaneous dance, where every October Funky Zombies across the globe gather to celebrate the greatest selling record of all-time! Caroline breaks down Thriller into fun, easy-to-follow movements for everyone to enjoy!

To enhance this spooky dance, we invite you to come in costume!

Michael Jackson Thriller  Join us at the African  American Art & Culture  Complex (AAACC) located  at 762 Fulton  Street, San  Francisco 94102 (between  Webster & Buchanan, with  easy Muni access and free  parking). A BIG "Thank  you" to the AAACC, who  has donated studio space  for us to use.
