Services Spotlight
Career Development Connections

Career Development Connections has evolved to its current service delivery model since September 2011.  I have posted 100s of jobs and have sent out over 30 newsletters with the latest job postings announcements.  Monday mornings just aren't the same without a Career Development Connections newsletter in your Inbox by 7 am!
I started this because I heard over and over how fearful people were about the upcoming contract awards and how they didn't know how to find the new jobs in the new model and how everyone was going to be competing for the positions so how could they find out about things quickly.  Well, I wanted to help. I wanted to do what I could to help the industry navigate during a difficult time. And I know Career Practitioners and I know that they would put their client's before themselves and if finding jobs for themselves could be even slightly easier, it would make a difference.
So, I launched Career Development Connections as a job posting site.  Since launching, people have been shocked that the service is provided for free.  They realize that there is a tremendous amount of work that goes into this weekly newsletter and in finding and posting the jobs on the website.  I am constantly asked how people can support me in this work that I do for free.
So, I have set up a page on Career Development Connections that describes the three ways you can support the Career Development Connections cause.  I am tremendously grateful to those people, and you know who you are, who have encouraged me to do this. I am also tremendously grateful to everyone who expresses support - the emails are inspiring me to me on so many levels so thank you!

Thought for the Week

Things are heating up! The labour market is picking up and summer employment is really kicking in. Lots of seasonal job postings out there and that means lots more people in your centres asking for help!

I would love to hear from people on how things are going with your centres. Have the bumps been worked out? Are there still lots of unanswered questions? What about ICM - how is that going?

I hear different things from different people and it is difficult to get a handle on how things are going - it seems like it is a day by day situation!  If you are interested in chatting about your experience, feel free to give me a call or email anytime!

Thanks to all of you for subscribing an
d enjoy your week!
