Job Seeker Spotlight

Pamela Cheng

My name is Pamela Cheng and I am passionate about the career planning and job search process. I enjoy inspiring and motivating people to realize their full potential, gain immediate employment and also to build a succession plan for ongoing future success.  I have the proven ability to exceed placement targets and create partnerships with local employers and services.  I have recent experience in group workshop development and facilitation focused on career search; and working with varied client base in needs assessments, career exploration, back to work action plans, resume and cover letter creation, job search and interview skills.  I thrive in an environment that allows me to collaborate, use a large variety of skills on a daily basis, and the opportunity to work with participants from the start of their search to the signing of their job offer.  I am looking for a role that will challenge me and allow me to use all of my skills. I can be reached at pamcheng@shaw.ca or 604-733-1313.

If you are a job seeker in the career development industry then send me a short bio (3 or 4 sentences in length) and I will include you in an upcoming newsletter.  Be sure to include your contact information (email address would be best) and the type of position you are looking for as a part of your bio.

This is an opportunity to market yourself beyond your current techniques and is a way to show that you know how to take job search beyond the traditional methods!

Event Spotlight

free Essential Skills through Safety and Health Conference

November 16, 2011

As you may know, the accident rates in the manufacturing sector are approximately 60% above the provincial average.  This impacts BC manufacturers through higher costs, lost production and low employee morale.

Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters is wrapping up a two year national initiative to help manufacturers reduce costs by integrating essential skills (i.e., literacy, numeracy, etc.) with Occupational Health and Safety strategies in the workplace.

CME is pleased to invite you and any other employees in your organization to attend the free Essential Skills through Safety and Health conference on November 16, 2011, where we will showcase innovative and practical real-life examples of workplace learning and you will have an opportunity to:

  • Acquire 10 hours of relevant OH&S curriculum, Learning a Culture of Safety
  • Test drive interactive computer-based training
  • Explore real life examples of workplace learning practices used by local businesses
  • Network and share best practices

Click here for the registration flyer with the pertinent information about the conference.  I am also providing you with the promo codes 1611ESSHBC and MAGESSH to enter when you register, which will waive your conference fees.

Please feel free to pass this invitation on to anyone you think it would be of interest to.  For more information on the ESSH program, visit our website http://www.essh.ca.
