Greetings!
TRB is issuing three RFPs for SHRP 2 implementation support projects, which are available on the following page. Proposals are due on October 2, 2012, at 4:30 PM. A prebid webinar will be held on September 6, 2012, which will give potential bidders an opportunity to ask questions; register now.
C55: Capacity Implementation Support The overall objective of the Capacity focus area is to systematize collaborative decision making to achieve better, faster project decisions that are sustainable. Research conducted in the SHRP 2 Capacity program focused on six major theme areas: collaborative decision making; economic impact analysis; integration of highway planning, conservation planning, and environmental review; advanced modeling and networks; operations to improve highway capacity and reliability; and freight planning. For this project, TRB is seeking support with implementation activities from a contractor team that is knowledgeable of the Capacity focus area.
L55: Reliability Implementation Support The major objective of SHRP 2 Reliability research is to greatly improve the reliability of highway travel times by reducing the frequency and effects of events that cause travel times to fluctuate unpredictably. The Reliability research plan addresses both recurring and nonrecurring congestion with an emphasis on nonrecurring congestion. For this project, TRB is seeking support with implementation activities from a contractor team that is knowledgeable of the Reliability focus area.
R55: Renewal Implementation Support Research in the SHRP 2 Renewal focus area addresses the need to develop a consistent, systematic approach to completing highway projects quickly, with minimal disruption to the community, while producing facilities that are long-lasting. Five primary product groupings have been developed based on product/asset areas: Pavements, Bridges, Nondestructive Testing, Project Delivery, and Utilities and Railroads. For this project, TRB is seeking support with implementation activities from a contractor team that is knowledgeable of the Renewal focus area.
